Thai

For Thai I would recommend Padthai Restaurant on Whyte Avenue (more authentic than King and I).

I know I'll get some eyebrows raised with this one - but hey... it's all about personal taste:

Canadian/American
Original Joe's on 125 St & 102 Ave - great food - good price

Japanese
No sushi house offers better than Furusato on whyte (not much to look at but it IS the best)

Chinese/Szechuan
Pearl River on 99st & 42 (ish...) - been there forever - there is a reason ...

Dim Sum
Mirama on Jasper

Vietnamese
I know that Than Than is considered "too white and too expensive" but I can't help but love going there

Thai
Kink & I - Just order appetizers though...

East Indian
New Village Idiots - Altough the owner is a gross pig - his mom's food is very good...

Greek
According to the local Greek community Syrtaki's on 111 Ave & 168 ST IS the place - I do like Koutouki on 124 st also.

Italian
Chianti's/Fiori is an insult to Italian cooking... (and there isn't an italian soul to be found in either kitchen....) My choice is Il Forno on 149ST & 102 Ave (mid range) and il Portico on 107 St & 100 Ave (high end)

French
Normands (the owner is very nice and the food always awesome) and Renoir's Table on rice howard way (the chick owner used to be an SP)

Mexican
There are no good Mexican restaurants in Edmonton to speak of but there is a little chilean gem called "los andes" on 99 St and 42 Ave (place looks like total crap but the food is awesome and cheap)

Most Underrated restaurant in Edmonton: Manor Cafe (next door to La Spiga on 125 St & 102 Ave) It has the best Patio in town - great menu and the prices should be at least 30% more for what you get... It's also very romantic...

Best Burger - unfortunately, since I've been to Bucchanan's in Calgary and ordered their filet mignon burger - nothing here quite makes it... sorry

My comments are

Greek Koutakis and 124 and who know maybe luck into another party of Supreme and sindies, otherwise Yiannis on whyte and 1o4th

Breakfast Barb and enries on 97 st and about 70th ave be prepared for Ernie to flirt with your date/so He did with mine but they were both of german heritage if that made a difference (part of his act i think)

Hardware Grill/Select Cafe prefer the latter try the boccocino and tomato salad we loved it

Steak stay to the keg for the money is as good as anything sirloin is top rate

tried the white spot not too long ago off calgary trail was very good both enjoyed the meals

dim sum try Tan Tan on 97 th st
