LAG's thread of his 1000th post celebration got me wondering. Who's been on here for 5 years? Active members only.

Deke and myself are from May 2002. Exact same join date too.

5 is my perb number. No.5 orange was my first "perb" experience and I'll probably splurge 5 dances on my 5th anniversary... if they still have full contact dances available... :( I'll post a review on my 555th post! :D

I recently dropped another handle I had since 2003. I lurked and then went away for awhile. Upon return I started this one and then remembered the other. I dumped it just before all the bannings for same reason started.

After looking around on the board I notice more and more long timers out......way to go guys.......new clique perhaps? We've been here longer sooooo.........lol. I hope to be apart of the reviewing community for many years to come. In one place or another.

I'm just hitting my 4th anniversary. The place has changed a lot since then...I don't know if I would have hung around then if it was like it is now. I was hooked by the characters and the stories and the reviews. In fact the review section was where all the action was, not in the lounge as it is now.

I "officially" joined in September 2004 but I lurked for about a year and a half before then. I agree that the review section was very lively back then but there were a lot of weirdos, too. I thought it was too juvenile back then to join ... it reminded me of some of the repartee on some sports websites I was involved with back then. I didn't see much difference between the 14 year olds dissing each other over whose favourite star had the best slamdunk and the posters flaming each other over giving a 9 when there was no BBBJ involved or fawning over the rare appearance of a witty SP like LavaVixen. They really weren't the "good old days" everyone seems to think they were.

It always seems this way in a lot of things. Everyone who went through school in the fifties and early sixties likes to go on about how school used to be so good "back in the day" ... yeah, right. If you look at the number of dropouts I remember from my high school, guys I've met since who are janitors, low-life roofers in and out of jail, etc. versus the kids that at least stumble through school now and get some community college in. Sure they are working at Starbucks but they know that Fellini isn't a type of pasta. They have a lot more flexibility and hope in their lives than the drop-out guys with the waterfalls and the rat-tail combs in their back pockets I knew who now live in greasy double-wide trailer parks looking for a good mullet barber in Boston Bar.

Perb has never been all that cool and probably never will be. At least you can find a few intelligent commentaries every day as you search for your next SP thrill through the still too infrequent and oftern uninformative reviews. The reviews were not much better in "the good old days" and the talk was pretty cheap.

Waterfalls in their back pockets? I don't remember that part. But I had a rat-tail comb and pointed shoes.

But yeah, I always cringe when my contemporaries (mid-fifties) start talking about "the good old days" and "kids now days". Things weren't better then. They were different.

As for this board, I've only been around a bit over a year, and it has changed a lot in that time. Still, I find what I want, which is information about SPs whom I am thinking of seeing. I miss some of the characters that were around, but on the other hand I rather like the generally more civil tone the board has at present.

I do regret that there are fewer ladies posting. It was nice, for example, to see Avarice pop up again.

The join date on my TERB account (also Sirlickheralot) is March 2002. I was aware of PERB and have been reading it since the first couple of days of its existence but I didn't bother signing up right away.

One more from close to the beginning.

Actually signed up in week 1, had second thoughts, then signed up again.

As for quality of this, that and everything else in here.......you get what you pay for!

But seriously, the reviews are still (mostly) valid, and that's what I'm here for. I could care less about post counts, because post quality is what counts.

Maybe some of us should hook up at a stripclub or bar and hang out once in a year.
