Check out page 3 of the Edmonton Sun Weekend to get all the details. Savanna Samson & Sunrise Adams will be at Cowboys Bar in the west end tonight. It is the "Porn Star Ball" and it starts at 8 pm and tickets are $15 for men and $10 for females and there is a less-is-best dress code so it could be interesting....

Too bad " for me " that they are both blondes.... as I like brunette's mainly.... but blondes are not hard to look at... just have a thing for dark hair....

Why not just wait until Source has a signing again? At least you won't have to pay for the "honor" of being in the same room as one of these pros...especially at Cowboys of all places.

Add me to the list of those agreeing with grillusion. Two points...If it's mandatory, it's not a tip. The meaning of "TIP" as I understand it is "To Insure Promptness" so it should NOT be automatic.

People will argue that the staff there don't get paid much, well SORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY. I can name "one or Two" other people that feel that way about their jobs and THEY don't get tips, they get told go find another job if you don't like this one.

I must be in the minority here, because I always tip well. Doesn't matter who it is - the siliconed beer tub girl, the bartenders, waitresses, taxi drivers, etc. Of course, it will vary depending on the service. Even with SPs, I may toss in extra green to the agreed price if she's especially outstanding.

For those of you who tip poorly or sneer at it, I strongly suggest that you leave such an attitude behind if you are venturing outside of the country. In the States, for example, most waitresses and bartenders do not earn any salary nor hourly wage at all - their money is all made in tips. It's expected of you. So you can see why Canadians have this reputation for being cheap.

All that said, what I can't stand are bathroom attendents. They are all over the States and in Toronto, and are now present in some bars and restaurants in E-town. Why do these guys feel that turning on and off the tap for me, squirting me some soap and handing me a paper towel is deserving of a loonie? It's even discouraging some guys from washing their hands after pissing.

I don't tip poorly Wolverine and because of that very reason you mentioned, it's expected. All I meant was that they should stop calling it a 'TIP' when it's really part of the charge. And you're right, Canadian are considered cheap. My problem with the concept of tipping is this: Yu and I go out for dinner. My meal comes to $10 and your's comes to $20. We both get our meals at the same time. The waitress is looking after the other tables and not paying any 'special' attention to us. Actually, forget the other tables, you and I get the same level of service yet you are expected to "tip" $3 and I'm expected to tip $1.50. Why should you pay extra for the same service. Sure your meal comes to twice as much but you already got charged for THAT. OK...You can call me a cheap bastard now lol. Then again, maybe you're calling me a cheap bastard and not lol!

That's a reasonable argument if the tip is collected by just the waitress alone. However, that's often not the case because she'll have to give part of it to the cook or chef. It takes more time and care to prepare a more expensive meal such a steak than to make a simple ham sammich. So when I tip, I don't just consider the one serving me, but I also consider the poor bastard who cooked my meal. Therefore, the tip being a percentage of the bill makes make sense to me.

You're right on the staff in addition to the waitress. Although I knew about that, never considered it here. Good Point!

Depends on the nightclub too. Places like Cowboys attract the 18-year-old brats who not only are unable to handle their liquor but who have no concept of tipping at all. Hence why the beer tub girl doesn't give you your 75 cents in change. A classier, more upscale bar with an older clientele will see better tipping and less attitude from the bar staff. And incidently, such establishments do not have to rely on siliconed beer tub girls to attract the guys nor on an army of black-T-shirted steroid abusers with the little earphones to keep patrons safe.

um,i don't agree with you at all wolverine, you all are making me hungry with all that talk about food, geez, soon you'll be broadcasting your fav restaurant you love to tip at? hehe, sorry that was a cheap shot. Hey, I can't fault you if you love the tipping game wolf, but i could care less about what others think of what i do with my very hard earned money(tipping). I tip when it's necessary, and because of that fact I have to be careful where i eat : )
