Good lord, can't this be raised?

When I respond to someone's email, I can't quote their text and add mine, or I go over the limit.

And even then, I have to break my messages into 2 pieces.

Can this limit be raised?

I agree its very frustrating, and its not just email its PMs too.

You bang away to answer a question, you hit send and you see you have 1500 characters, 500 more than allowed. So you are left to edit your reply, or send it in multiple parts. I always hated this. I wonder if my good buddy FredZ can change this? --- Kev

EVERY "response" I have ever implemented has always exceeded the 1,000 character limit. You'd be surprised how skilled you get at editing your replies. On rare occasions, you'll need Parts One and Two.

The solution to your dilemmna is not to just GIVE US MORE RESOURCES. IMO the intelligent answer is acquire/develop skills to stay within the reasonable allocation. Ain't easy, but with a lot of commitment, you'll ber able to do it. Good luck.

Remember, the shorter your response, the more likely Perbets will read your response to its conclusion.

Screw that. I am such a vast fountain of information, knowledge, wisdom, and entertainment, that to shorten any of my messages in any way would surely be a crime against humanity. ;)

The other option is to increase the character limit to 1500 or 2000. --- Kev

vancouverman go to Stanley Park.:)

I don't see why there is any limit. There isn't one when you post? So why when you send an email or a PM?

FredZ has his reasons and i'm sure they are good ones, but there is no harm is enquiring to have it raised. If there is no response, then FredZ is saying Kev go to Stanley Park.:) --- Kev

Thanks for your supportting comments Vancouverman. Don't these fuckers understand the solution to each new irritating problem is NOT give me more.

Hey Kev, what's with the Stanley Park thing? Squatters? Don't get it. Explain if you will please.

And aren't you impressed with how I saved bandwith with a dual response? Practising what is preached.

Back on topic.......

A simple question. Is it possible to increase the 1000 character limit in emails or PMs to a higher limit?

Only FredZ knows for sure. --- Kev

Yo Kev:

Doin' just fine Kev. Maybe "suckers" instead of "*uckers" might have passed the invisible and somewhat selective litmus test.

The real rant was a reaction to the seemingly endless ever-increasing demand to "give me more." Mother Earth has only so much to give. Let's get back to the compost pile philosophy before it's too late.
