There was something in the paper last week about a few RCMP being sent home before the Olympics even started for some sort of inappropriate behavior. It didn't say what that behavior was, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is it.

No, I read that he was dismissed for showing up for work still legally impaired from the night before....or I could be confused with another RCMP story...or all of the above

How would anyone know if an officer went pooning unless he was stupid enough to tell all his coworkers

Seven police officers and four members of the Canadian Forces have been relieved of their Olympic duties on the V2010 force that was specially created to ensure security and law enforcement at the Games, said Sergeant Leo Monbourquette, a spokesman for the security unit.

Reports say the dismissals are linked to fights and the use of prostitutes on the unit's cruise ship accommodations, but V2010 officials would not confirm that or elaborate on what led to their dismissals

The above report is from http://www.rcmpwatch.com/ so it may only be unfounded speculation.

Sarah Boesveld and Paul Waldie (Globe and Mail) - Eleven members of Vancouver’s Integrated Security Unit have been sent packing after engaging in behaviour officials say was not up to code.

Dismissed [from the olympics] and being fired are not the same. I heard that there was some minor scuffles aboard the cruise ship between a few within the military and the rcmp. of course, the rcmp want to look really good in the public's eye now so they're using clever wording to imply they're actually doing some good.

No, you're just confused. It was a Vancouver City Police officer that showed up with booze on the breath who was pulled from Olympic related duty, but not from dealing with the rest of us plebes.

our male RCMP wouldn't have to resort to such shenagins......
I have to disagree with the ditch pig comment that went with this, I got a hug from a female mountie in Whistler this a.m. that was kind of sweet. So was she.

Are you sure she was a mountie and not an auxillary?

Ya, I'm sure. Auxillaries don't carry guns.
Lol. She'll probably be sent home too since hugging strangers is considered inappropriate behavior unless it was to console someone in a traumatic situation. :)

Everyone is abusing the system! That's why Canada is a poor country! Wants to be the top of the world, but in reality, there's none to make it happen!
