Was driving up Sherbrooke yesterday and noticed they are demolishing the building that used to house 222. Another sad day for the MP crowd. Just think 5 years ago we still had Club 205 in Chinatown, Jesse's, 222 and Rainbow (a shithole but that's where I did meet the real Jessica). That doesn't leave a bother with alot of choice.

The city did a great job closing them? Now there is Nevada's, Broadway, Moonlight, Ellice Ave, Sargent Ave, Selkirk Ave, and the many side streets in that area!!! Getting to be like Regina more and more...

why?

i think i understand the logic the city is using in demolishing these old establishments...it's flawed logic as far as i'm concerned but they say you can't fight city hall...in the case of 222, peter nygard has purchased the whole building and expropriated everything including champion house (a huge loss - they made yummy hot n sour soup) my question is why is the city so dead set against allowing new places to open?

one would think that the revenue generated bi the licenses, business tax etc would be good for the city coffers...particularly now that escort agencies are no longer bound geographically to the downtown area - wouldn't having more upscale establishments be in everyone's best interests?

i know my naivete is showing here but will someone please explain this to me:eek:

From a family values perspective (where most of the votes come from - the middle to upper middle class who typically have families) opening more MPs won't generate alot of good press and buy alot votes come election time.

Inbetween your Mom's legs...
Heh, most of the pooners are middle to upper middle class who have families though ;)

In a recent article, it was mentioned that most of the "JOHN's" were from CharlesWood, that's pretty much middle to upper class...(The article however was about SW's)

I guess in public the guys would have to be publically against it, but in private they're probably saying

D'OH!

Legalize Pot and have a Red-Light district like they have in AMSTERDAM? Haha I would totally vote for that politician...

You have a good point. Also, todays society still has a moral issue with escorting and massage parlors.
Honestly, if you want to get into this type of biz there are plenty of places to work ranging from parlors and agencies etc...we really just need to crack down on the street walking crack heads that spread the majority of diseases around.
Yes, I know there is a thread somewhere on this topic but Im too lazy to find it. Hee Hee 8)

Several years ago I went the Chinese restuarant on the ground level a few times. Always had a grin on my face thinking here is a restaurant that has a lot of fucking overhead! :D

I'm glad about the demo...

though I briefly worked at the Forum in '81. Seemed kind of dead even back then.

The kitchen in that joint was questionable, to say the least.

I certainly miss 222. I had so many great times there and it was my favorite place. I have many fond memories of Stephanie. There was a classy fun and extremely sexy lady! I also remember 205 but it was pretty much a dive.

I'm not sure how many votes are affected by the city's policy regarding mps, etc. Personally, if the media would not report anything on those, very few people would even be aware they exist. I had no clue such places existed until one of my buds led me down the garden path (to Eve?) and opened my eyes. Most people would expect a massage at a "massage parlour" and nothing else.

Regarding streetwalkers, you would think that after the discovery of another body in a field a couple of weeks ago that those ladies would be weary of walking to sell their wares!

These types should be easy to avoid in order to minimize the spread of diseases, it's the other seemingly "benign" ones that are likely more dangerous.

My experience was just the opposite, at least as far as the facilities were concerned. 222 was old and dingy; 205 was bright and well-appointed. In general, the ladies at 222 were better than those at 205, but I stopped going to 222 a couple of years before its closure, because I was always sfraid it was going to be raided. The girls who worked at 205 tended to be greedy and very restrictive, with one or two exceptions.
