If those dumb ass Conservative won't do anything about guns then its up to us to do something about it. And that's exactly what we did in our building.

The incident in Virgina prompted the tenants to make our building a "Gun Free" zone so we won't have any violence like all those mass killings going around. I wonder if were the first in building in Vancouver to do this or not?

Mayby this will catch on and we can get the entire city to be "Gun Free".
I'm not a lawyer but i don't believe landlords have the right to ban guns from their buildings. If its my right to own guns under the law then it should be my right to store them at my dwelling.

The other requirement is that you test fire at an approved facility so that LE has samples of your handgun's projectiles. You have to provide a test projectile for every type of ammunition that you register to use. You can lose your carry permit if you are ever caught with non-approved ammunition or non-registered ammunition. If, for any reason, you change the barrel of the gun you must test fire and register all over again.
I never had to do anything thats posted above, and i've replaced the barrel.

More people are dieing from heart disease than handguns. Maybe we should ban McDonalds.

The barrel of a long gun (rifle) or the barrel of a hand gun? The distinction is important. You can verify a long gun over the phone. Hand Guns must be physically inspected. Hand Guns that are for unrestricted carry are physically inspected. The carry permit specifies the actual firearm attached to that permit.

To the people who keep saying "it's not guns that kill people, people kill people", let's do this then: Let anyone have fully automatic assault weapons or any other kind of weapon they choose. I am going to put a heavy machine gun on my porch and pack my house with grenade launchers, etc., and walk around town with a flame thrower and a couple of well concealed pistols. Of course, joe next door will probably do likewise, and so will mary and jane.

Makes you feel real safe doesn't it. Then some ass is going to go into a school with his fully automatic weapon and start shooting. Then someone else is going to notice after the shooting begins and pull out his weapon. Of course, once the bullets start flying, someone else is going to get confused and think the 2nd guy is the 1st guy and shoot him, and on and on it goes. Someone else won't be able to control his pistol in defense of himself and others and kill innocent people. Someone else thinks that there is a rampage going on and decides that if he fires off a few rounds, nobody will notice and besides, he's tired of shooting tin cans and wants to see what it's like to kill somebody for fun, or might as well do in that bully he's always hated. Yeah guns are the solution to preventing violence.

Thankfully that scenario of ability to own those kind of weapons is
strictly banned. But would be usefull in and all out invasion.:D

We've already been invaded by Communist China! They've landed in Richmond and some have already crossed the Oak St. Bridge. Time to get out the flame throwers and stop the yellow peril!

The Americans have been running this experiment for years. The result? Easily available guns kill people.

Columbine or VA State wouldn't have happened if guns weren't easily available. The guys may have still gone crazy, but it's hard to kill so many with a baseball bat or kitchen knife.

Yeah but the pro-gun types would then say that if guns were available, someone would have shot the bad guy. That's their logic, too bad it's nonsense.

Don't know the details of how its going to work, I'm not involved in initiating this building policy one of the ladies in the building organized this. However, I don't think she knows too much about guns because at first she wanted her son-in law who is a mechanic to bring in a blow torch and set it up in the rear parking lot for people to bring their guns and bullets to be melted down for recycling. Someone had to tell her that you can't do that to bullets.

As for those crazy assault weapons. I'm glad Canada banned them after the Mark Lepine incedent or we would have chaos in this country with massacres happening every week.

As for the Texas sniper shootings, I wonder how many innocent bystanders got shot by stray bullets from people shooting at the sniper. Having more guns in a situation like Virgina, Texas, and Montreal just means more people getting killed by all that cross fire.

Once I realized that I no longer had any legitimate use for a handgun, I took a sledgehammer to mine and destroyed it.
You do realise the federal government (and police, by extension) do not beleive you, and failure to produce will land you in jail even faster than not having a permit?

Sweden.
Switzerland.
Finland.

Quote me the violent crime rate there bright boy, and btw, it is a legal requirement to be in the army for a minimum time, and you must keep your FULLY AUTOMATIC weapon in your house during and after service.

Brainwashing for the win!

Oh I see, you think you're smart because you compare Switzerland to America or Canada, which is like comparing Monaco to Australia! Your brain must be so big, you crushed all memory of the blatantly obvious high rate of deaths due to guns in the US, yet most Americans who do own them are law abiding and who have never hurt anyone and would defend against gun crimes using a gun. Somehow you choose to ignore that the few bad apples that own guns cause majority of the deaths and that even the overwhelming majority who are good people fail to stop these crimes with their own guns. And perhaps you are actually stupid enough to believe that the Swiss model of gun disbursements somehow will work for the United States and Canada, where we have far greater differences between rich and poor, a huge drug problem, extreme racial tension (in the US), a marginalized aboriginal population, far higher violent crime rates, far less cohesive society, significant immigration problems, much greater land mass, and a significantly larger host of other social evils. I can just see how the majority of white Canadians are going to be happy to give guns to the young Vietnamese, Somalian, Honduran, and Lebanese immigrants, as well as hopeless and pissed off Aboriginal youth, after being forced to finish military service - like they do in Switzerland or Finland. What works for one country is not going to work for another especially if they are vastly different, and probably you just like guns and will reach as far as you can to support your particular fetish despite the consequences it could have on others.

Fudd, very progressive - too bad the symbolism is lost on many within this thread.

The real true question is how do you keep the guns out of the hands of criminals and wackjobs?
Uhhh, can ya say gun registry? ... and by expanding those gun free zones :D
