Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
I still can't get over the enormity of this tragedy. So many with so much promise and such bright futures gone in a flash. So many others will suffer from this tragedy for the rest of theri lives. I can't imagine the massive grief the parents, billet parents and the entire community are feeling.
As someone born in Saskatoon and spent his early years there and then returned to attend the U of S I am so sad. Playing football for the U of S Huskies we would visit many of the small towns in Saskatchewan including Humboldt, to teach football camps and talk to the kids. Saskatchewan is a province of many small towns all closely linked where everyone seems to know everyone. We all have a friend or cousin in Yorkton, Meadow Lake or Biggar.
Parents send their kids to small communities all over this country to chase their dreams. We never think it can end with such a nightmare.

A horrible thing for young kids to experience.
Everyone in Humboldt will be affected, a small town like that everyone knows everyone else.

A massive transport truck and a large passenger bus, apparently approaching a rural highway intersection with nothing but vast flat fields for miles. And neither driver sees the other.

The result is a heartbroken nation grappling with many questions.

Still lost in the '60s
I was in tears watching the news yesterday.
I felt like I wanted to help somehow.
They already had more than two million dollars donated to their gofundme page.
But this touched so many more people.
I went online and made a donation to the Saskatoon Food Bank, in memory of the Humboldt Broncos.

It looks like the transport truck ran a stop sign at the intersection. It will be interesting to discover why.

That's so horribly terrible. Sadly, and oddly, this happens a lot in the open prairies. The roads are so straight that you can drive a lot more absent minded, but most locals know this... Thoughts and prayers to the families and friends effected

I had to turn it off after hearing about it on the radio.

Simply awful for any family involved with sports, not just hockey. It's so common to travel 6 - 8 hours or more to get someplace to play their chosen sport.

It sure hits home.

Such a terrible loss

I’ve been feeling so sad and down since this happened .
As a mom who’s put her son on a bus to travel for games so so many times I’m absolutely broken thinking about what those families are going through :(

Fantastic idea! I sometimes feel the "thoughts and prayers" statement feels unhelpful (but often the only thing that comes to mind); contributing to this (or a similar organization that makes meals for the affected families) will hopefully make a small but meaningful difference.

I just can't imagine what friends and families are going through right now....
