is there any way for me to block a particular banner from appearing while I'm logged into PERB?

I normally don't pay much attention to them but there are two that bug me.....one I find rather nasty and the second is from an SP I'd sooner stick my cock into a blender then spend time with

suggestions?

I think probably not as the banners appear to be coded directly into the pages we see. If they were pop-ups your browser would take care of squelching them.

Do what I do. As soon as I log onto PERB I give thee ol mouse wheel 2 scrolls to get rid of the banner at the top of the page. Just incase I have to leave the comp for a minute, and it has happened. I got up and forgot I was on PERB.

Other than that I can't really say I hate any, they all just don't mean fukk all to me, might aswell be poker adds. or, or how about, kill this thing, rope this thing, punch this thing, etc.... and win an IPOD.

I use the Firefox Extension "NoScript", and I only unblock perb when I need to use a script feature (which is really rare). I unblocked perb this weekend and saw that banner and immediately blocked perb again.

Well, if you're using telus security or firefox browser following these steps should do the job.

for telus security:
right click on banner find and click the option to copy image location

open telus security and go to the popup blocker page, select "blocked ads list"

click "new" a new entry will appear, right click and paste the previously copied image location, press update. reload the webpage, the offending banner or image should be gone. repeat for any other banners.

for firefox: again right click the banner and click to save banner location. Once you've done this then click on "tools" and from options window click on "content" next to the option "load images automatically" click "options". once in options just paste the url for the banner into "address of web site" and click "block". repeat for any other banners.

If you're using some other browser then firefox chances are the steps should be more or less similar.

And if you're not using Firefox you're missing out. Try some extensions too:

Adblock

There are more and maybe better, plus extensions that keep expanding your filters as the advertisers get smarter.
