I like the little story on global the other night.....they were outside costco and their entire supply of bottle water sold out in 13 minutes.....as someone leaving the store said, it would be interesting to see what happened if a full blown tsunami hit and it wasn't just water that people needed
Fucking pathetic really that with all the reports, and at times hype, about things like y2k, avian flu, hurricane katrina, etc. and how people should be prepared with basic things LIKE THREE DAYS worth of water nobody pays attention. This just adds to my resolve that if/when something bad were to hit I'm feel less then sympathetic to help those who couldn't be bothered to help themselves ahead of time.
Fuck em, let the shit hit the fan and I'll be snug as a well armed bug in a rug. Food, water (both an in house filtering and ultraviolet purification system as well as bottled water if the muni supply runs out or I have to leave my little sanctuary), alternative power supply (kohler generator to be installed next spring), metal roller shutters, high security locks and doors, video security system and of course like every Albertan one or three guns inside. So yes please, by all means bring it on!
