    In Desperate Need Of Computer

Gahhh.. The Belle needs a computer.

As most of you know, I don't actually have a computer.. and my only way of accessing the internet and such, is through the Library (which has a one hour per day limit), or the internet cafe (which is getting very expensive and inconvenient because I have to travel to get there)
So, I'm looking for a computer.. I need one very soon, as I will be moving into my new place this week..

So.. if any of you have a computer that you're willing to give the Belle.. it would be VERY greatly appreciated!

I know this is a strange request, but I thought it was worth a try

I have a 286 which was used as a boat anchor that you may have! Computer cases were sure built solid back then.

JK, I'm sure you'll get a LOT better offers.

    Babybelle needs a computer

New computers are no longer that expensive. Computer Paper has specials.

$399 for the entry level Celeron (1.8 speed) or AMD equivalent, and another $130 for an entry level colour monitor.

Well if you don’t ask for a free computer, then you definitely won’t get one.

Most places who have low prices in the computer paper do not have great service, It is a cut throat business, low margin so service tends to be close to zero.

While I've heard of problems with some of the cheaper places, I've never experience them (service has always been decent.) I guess it's like many things... YMMV

Another thing: If you're not going to use it for much more than the Net and email, maybe documents, you don't need much at all... 400mhz CPU and 128MB ram with a 10GB hard disk should be enough (more than enough, really.)

You definitely don't need the newest and fastest unless you're into video games or similar.

There are many computer shops located at Crystal Malls by Metro Town, they have very competitive prices, I got one in January of this year cost me approx. 700 for a P4, 2 G with both DVD drive and CD-RW drive of course also the standard floppy drive.
I paid a bit more for optical mouse and a nice microsoft multimedia keyboard...
