Hey guys,

I am a new to the business and I want to advertise on the board, but so for nobody has returned my messages on how to do that. Does anybody know who's in charge of advertising so i can message them specifically?

Post a little something about yourself, or perhaps you could give a Demo. I'm always up for a freebie and will post an honest review post action. A good review by a non-shill is always a good way to get clientelle.

Here is a bit of advice to all the ladies on this board about advertising and Posting in general... It has to be controlled and the new Mods in various forums are doing a good job of that (and trying to get people to post in the correct forum)...

So your a SP and you want to join PERB great, got something useful to contribute great! do it. The perspective of and SP is welcome... Now don't be a jerk (of course that goes for everyone really) people posts REVIEWS here even the best people have bad days or just don't "click" with clients if the review is about you well sure post your view of what happened BUT STOP THERE getting in a pissing match aint gonna help ya!!! You are far better off to just deal with and carry on, if you're good it will come out.

Now so you are posting and adding value to the forum good for you... there is something attached to your membership called a profile USE IT.... Advertise in PERB I look at the adds (even picked one lady from them) but use everything at your disposal... marketing 101 (which also says don't market in a way that pisses off your clients like posting adds in review forums)... Any of the PERB mods or admins disagree with me let me know...

Have fun

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to piss anyone off. I have been sending emails and messages for the last week and no one got back to me until i posted in the lounge. I am sorry if i offended you oberon, I just felt attacked, but your advice was good advice and I will heed it in the future.

Sophia, you learned your first lesson: if you feel attacked DON'T attack back! That's how people like Vancouver Julia ruin their reputation, insult their past and present regulars and eventually have to slink away in embarrassment. If you don't know what I mean read her last 20 posts.

Anyone can post their opinion and they aren't asking to be contradicted or mocked, in fact they almost always have the best of intentions. Assume they do!

I think we need a new rule for everyone - if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything! (Not meant to u specifically Sophia)

And I did smoke up before I wrote this!! haha.

I really do feel bad about my reply. As a newcomer I felt singled out for stuff I hadn't yet done, but as I reread oberon's post I realize he was giving me advice to heed in the future. It was a gut reaction, apparently my critical thinking skills aren't operating very well today, how embarrasing for me. I guess there goes the 'good first impression'.
But seriously, my sincerest apologies to oberon.

relax... that is the problem with computer based communication you can send before you have time to think... you have to be real careful. I always reread everything...

What edit function are we talking about? Do you mean the filter from brain to mouth, the option and use of the backspace key to edit ones thoughts, or are you actually able to go back and rewrite or delete posts that you regret in retrospect? This doesn't seem possible, but as I have never explored or participated in an online forum until now, I could be a complete dufus. I am sure the answer is obvious, so as to prevent future embarasment we might as well cover any other somewhat obvious, but easy to miss, shite that may be beyond a beginner like me. My father owns a computer store, but to his dismay, his daughter is not very tech savy. Damn.... if only I had taken advantage of the computer design courses in school I could be a graphic designer instead of a starving artist.

Any advice, any cool tricks, or any tech traps that you can inform or warn me of? One question, are you able to attach pictures to the actual board, or must you go through a link to a web page or through email? I would like to provide images to the people on this board, without having them availible to the entire web community. Blah blah....

Clueless me sophia

Edit Function

Sophia look at the bottom of your post on the right hand side. The edit button allows you to either edit or delete your post within 24 hours of posting it. After 24 hours you have to pm the moderator or Fred and ask them to do it for you. After 24 hours it is their decision whether you are allowed to alter your post.

One should always reread their post twice before sending, the same applies to e-mail. Because written communication doesn't have the visual or tonal cues that face to face or voice communcation does. It is very easy to unintenionally offend someone. The same applies when you read something from someone else, always give them the benefit of doubt. I know I have had to apologise for some unnecessary flaming in the past.

I think the point of this thread Sophia was something about advertising? You wanted to advertise & I noticed the mod asked you to check your PMs...if you didn't know there is a fee to advertise...

I wasn't sure if my repeated requests for info were recieved, or if there was an error in my methods, ya da ya da ya da which led me to question who and where I needed to post/email to get such a response. The guys were quick to point me to Fred Zed, as did the PM that same day. Perhaps I was impatient? In any case I sent off a money order to Mr. Zed the next day, so I assume I will be able to advertise in the near future. YAY!!!

In the meantime, thanks for all the help and stuff everyone.

Yes this whole thing got a little convoluded (sp), what can you do...
