Thread: Best place to score in Edmonton?

Best place to score in Edmonton?

I'll be in town for a few days and was wondering what was the best place(s) to meet women (or girls ) during the weeknights.

I've heard of Whytes Ave., but I have not idea what is good there. How about hotel bars? I'm 30 so the 18-35 age range is cool with me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

hey bincent, heres a few suggestions:

really young crowds hang on whyte at various bars and at west edm mall at either the joint or rum jungle

if you want a more mature crowd, try cook county just off whyte or nashvilles in wem

if you want to chase cougers, try dantes in the westend

if all you are looking for is to score, try on of our fabulous mp's my suggestion is fantasy(se), penthouse(dt), cloudnine,(we) prestige(s), xtc(ne)

hope this helps you on your journey young grasshopper.

Thanks Owudoin, I forgot about the pump downtown. Another one that just openned up is Moriarty's in St.Albert, could be some fresh faces to go after. I'm thinkin o' swinging by there 2nite, I'll let you know what I find. By the way, Bincent, when are you coming in? Let me know, and I'll see if there are any special events that might peak your interest. - B.

    Best cougar places:
    - Dante's
    - Overtime
    - Ceilis (downtown and southside)
    - Gas Pump

Hottest places for the young ones:
    - any place on Whyte Ave
    - Rum Jungle (WEM)
    - Standard (formerly Barry Ts)

I always see a huge lineup of college kids outside of the Stonehedge (Jasper and 111 St) on the weekends.

Bincent: What hotel are you at? If you are staying at the Westin, a new bar just opened across the street called Terry Vaughn's. Looks promising. A block or two west on Jasper Ave is a place called New City. I've never been there, but in one local entertainment paper, it won a few readers poll choices (best bar, hottest clientele, etc), although I suspect some ballot-stuffing here.

New City is kind of an alternative-rock-punk bar... lots of live shows too. Girls the night I was there were young and smokin!!

Ezzmereldas(sp?) or Ezzies for short is FULL of GORGEOUS women on weekends. It's by far better then the high maintenance stuff you get at rum jungle. Their the NAIT crowd that goes to ezzies, and DAMN fine to. Hmm guess where i'm headed tonight? :P

Downtown...DRUID. Laid back, casual, low maintenance, beer drinking kind of crowd. ages 18-30. Lots of jeans and teeny T-shirt ( but not slutty) kind of eye candy. Top 40 music..but lots of good rock. Jasper ave & 116st
Stonehouse: same kind of crowd as the Druid...but the girls are a little easier at the Stonehouse. (sorry if I've offended anyone). Teenier T's!! Same type of music, both plkaces are usually packed. Jasper ave & 111st.
Manhatten: ages 18-30. dressier...but less clothes!! Lots of little girls barely 18, and barely dressed!! Dance music, top 40, R&B, Hip Hop. Lots of hip swinging & pelvic grinding kind of dancing. Higher maintenence, good looking crowd. Plenty of eye candy...plenty of opportunity!!
My fav...Stonehouse...but is often packed. Otherwise Gas Pump. It's an older crowd fit for a cougar like me!! 114st 102 ave. Depends on what kind of girl you're looking for, and what kind of music you like. There's also Sidetrack, Overtime, Crystal Lounge, Calientes, and some After Hours clubs. I think I should get out more!! I only go out every 2 months or so!! So.....who's meeting me at the Pump 2night?!?! LOL Happy Hunting!!

Sidetrack, now that place is classy. It's university crowd, but a little retro in the music, i like going on the jazz nights. I like variety in all things i do.. hehe

Gah! Thanks for the correction, KITT! I mentioned the Stonehedge in my previous post, but it's the Stonehouse.

But why on God's good green earth would you go to the Gas Pump? The patrons in that place absolutely reek of desperation. Not a pretty crowd by any means. You'll find better-looking older people at Dante's, Overtime and Ceili's.

I haven't been to Dante's or Ceili's. I've been to Overtime...but found it a little "stuffy." I'm just not into guys who have to wear brand names, have perfectly styled hair or manicured nails. I'm totally into the really laid back kind of crowd you would find at a not too trendy pub. Yes, I think that the Pump has that air of desperation...but I used to hang out there years ago...so I know a lot of the staff. It's a comfort zone I guess. I go for the staff...not the patrons!!! One pub I used to like hangin' out at was the "Dragon's Head." I don't know if it is still around..but I liked it. Also the "Rev" or "Lush" because of the crowd..very friendly happy ppl!!
