After lurking here on the board for several months, I could no longer resist the urge to tell my point of view. I have been a part time Service Provider for 1.5 yrs at an agency.

First of all I would like to thank all the Gentlemen ( I use that term lightly for some…hehehe) and the Ladies that post here. You guys have entertained and educated me. Although I have been in the industry for sometime now, I am still learning new things all the time. Its not like you get a training manual when you are hired.

I have worked for the same agency since I started in the business and have found everyone involved, from the Bosses, Ladies I work with and most of all the Gentlemen, nothing but respectful to me. Although I am sure there are many pluses working as an Independent, working for an agency has many as well. I do not have to worry about things like, paying for rent, telephones, advertising etc, booking my appointments, getting to and from my appointments etc……you guys get my drift. They also provide me with a safe and clean work environment. All I have to worry about is looking great, smelling pretty, being on time for work and most of all being nice to all the Gentlemen I meet. I do not resent the fees I pay to the agency as I value the services they offer me in return.

The Ladies I work with; I have seen many Ladies come and go since I have been in the business. The reasons they work and leave are as diverse as the Ladies themselves. One of the most interesting things about this industry is the wide arrange of Ladies in it. I have never worked with such a diverse group of people. Now this can cause problems as well, i.e. backstabbing, gossip jealousy, cattiness etc. But I can tell you that it is not much different than the offices I have worked in. Same shit happens there too…..hehehe.

Sorry I could keep going on and on ….I LOVE my job, it has been one of the most interesting and fun jobs I have ever had. Thanks again for all that everyone has written, I have enjoyed reading everyone’s thoughts; I hope you enjoy my perspective.

Ps I have not use my name or the agency where I work, because I do not want it to appear that I am self promoting. I just wanted to share my point of view.

intertesting comments and let me ask you this spinvic and what are the reasons you come up with your restrictions, if you have any.

My restrictions? Hmmmmm interesting question. I must say that they would be a YMMV for each Gentleman. I am an open minded, sensual person that is responsive to the partner I am with.

However, each provider will have thier own restrictions for thier own reasons, for example they might find kissing is just too personal for them.

Not a simple question to answer as each person and situation is different. Again the diversity of the people in this business.

LOL have you ever thought about becoming a politician spinvic. You answered the question without really answering it. As one that doesnt recognize ymmv(i feel its a copout for the women after she has accepted the contribution) What are your restrictions say on a good day

Too funny, I have been told that before, that I would make a good politician, still not too sure if that is a compliment or not...lol

Ok ok, my personal restrictions, in general, are that I play it safe.

As for your comments on ymmv, I truly do not see it as a copout at all. If I see a Gentleman that is kind, caring and sensual, my person and body automatically response to it in the same manner. However if he is aggressive, negative etc my person and body responds back the same way. Also personal hygene plays a big factor as well (for both parties)...need i say more.

Hope that answers your question directly enough...hehehe

Welcome to the board spinvic! Given that its not illegal to do escort work in Canada, I find it interesting how vague and uninformative some SP's can be. Since most agencies have phone staff, it is a bit more difficult to get a sense of an SP's restrictions. Or is a good way for an agency SP to limit the scope of service by blaming the phone person for not describing her descriptions correctly. With independents, I find it always raises a red flag when they offer no information when prompted about how open minded they are or if they are into specific services. I usually find the bland "you won't be disappointed" answer to usually mean that I will be.

Welcome SpinVic!

Always nice to get the other perspective.

"I have never worked with such a diverse group of people. Now this can cause problems as well..."

Have you seen these "problems" and how was it handled?

1. Someone you know outside the biz comes in as a client. Do you hide, "see" him or pass?

2. One SP is more popular than the others and takes one of the few rooms for most of the shift. Is she limited to a # of clients so others have a chance to earn some?

What is it about the biz that was'nt what you had expected?

Thank you for the welcome. You are right that escorting in not illegal, however solicitation is.......Providers have to be careful as to what they can say. It is not about trying to be vague with the Gentleman.

Thanks for the welcome Shank,

1. Someone you know outside the biz comes in as a client. Do you hide, "see" him or pass?

This is a situation that can be uncomfortable for both people. I think it should be discussed and decided what is the most comfortable for both of them.

2. One SP is more popular than the others and takes one of the few rooms for most of the shift. Is she limited to a # of clients so others have a chance to earn some?

Where I work no one is given preferential treatment.

What is it about the biz that wasn't what you had expected?

That one is easy, the people that I have met and how much I like the job. I have met some wonderful Ladies and Gentlemen since I have been in the business. People that I probably would not have met in my mainstream life.

Soliciting is only illegal if done in public... so you can be specific as you want in a private phone conversation. I tell clients upfront what I do and don't do... without being overly graphic. Meaning... I don't let the person on the other end get all hot and bothered... I don't want to feed them a great line of telephone sex. But there is a nice and polite way to say everything and I do. Vague really isn't fair... and it gets the client to thinking that maybe the meeting will be a Catch 22.
