Isn't this board suposed to be for sharing information?

I find it puzzling. When a guy on here shares information about an SP or an agency based on his own experience and offers it up to fellow hobbyists it's considered a good thing. When an SP does the same thing but offers a unique perspective from the other side of the equation, the knives come out. Why the double standard?

We all live within our own standards, and sometimes they don't fit with another's. Especially in a place like this where there are all kinds of people talking about all kinds of people. I take it you read the stuff about me. Honestly, I want some constructive feedback.....Do you (or anyone who reads this) think that I was wrong say what I said? And be specific. I have apologised and I am now asking people to tell me where I went wrong and give me some pointers on what I could do next time. But I am met with hostility. I don't get it.....I made clear that I know I made a mistake, and I am trying to not only identify that mistake but learn how to not make it twice, and I am getting grilled. A person can't always change unless they have some helpful people offering suggestions on what needs to be changed and how to do it. You seem like a mellow guy, what's your input?

oh geez - where do I start?

-you were not discreet
-you bad mouthed your former employers
-you bad mouthed someone you hardly knew
-you bad mouthed the other girls
-you revealed personal information
-you exhibited signs of paranoia
-disregarded people who have shown you kindness
-you showed vindictiveness.

But keep it up! Its VERY attractive!

But Hipster some guys, perverts and PERBerts asked Pandora some questions. She was on a roll, a big roll, so why stop her? Once people sign up on PERB and discover the post button, they become addicted. And she gets to TALK ABOUT SEX! And we get to read about SEX!

Didn't some Doofus encourage her by saying good fight keep it up? :(

The way I see it Pandora you have many “problems”:

You and your agency don’t advertise with BCD.
You don’t provide kickbacks or special discounts to certain perb members.
You speak your mind rather than cowtow to certain perb members.
You don’t spend enough time buttering up certain perb members.
You offer information that usurps the status of certain perb members.
You are adding perspective to our sometimes one-sided and stale discussions.
You don’t reinforce the established “hierarchy” of the SP industry in Victoria

But your biggest problem is……… you’re a girl.

Actually, I found Pandora's info useful, helpful and surprisingly honest. It hasn't affected my opinion of IB, SU, or VE... but it has explained stuff I wondered about. The hobby is full of good and bad things, and it seems strange to me that we almost never hear of the bad. I think my perception of the hobby in Victoria is now much more balanced and informed. And this is a good thing.

Okay, I can see this from both sides, and I will give it to you from both sides. Yes, Hipster I do realize that I was vindictive, sometimes purposefully mean, and probably said more than I should of. For that I have apologized and will apologise again. If you don't believe my apology, then I accept that, but an apology is all I can do. Shawnvict, you are also right on some things. I was asked questions and I did give answers. I will admit, that having my voice heard on this board is a pretty cool thing, and I did get carried away and used that voice in a way that was unprofessional, unjust, hurtful, and sometimes cynnical. Again I apologise for all of the things that I have written that caused bad vibes. I thank you both for your feedback, and if you really have interests in me changing the things I say, then I need continued feedback because I am new at the board, and sometimes I will say things that are out of line. As long as the criticism is posted in a neutral or positive way, fine. I don't need negative reinforcement such as being egged on or having my cage rattled by those who know how to do it. I don't know what else to do to ease your concerns except tell you that I will try to be more conscious of what I say and how I say it, and that I am really sorry. I gave maude shit for saying things without realizing the consequences of his words. Well, here's my poetic justice.

Okay, vicgfelover, I was unaware of the fact that it was an unspoken requirement that one had to "butter up" certain perb members. If I knew who they were and how to behave around them, I would act accordingly. Advertising is not up to me, and if it were, we would advertise everywhere we could. But that is Luscious' department. I am unfamiliar with the term cowtow, but by the context I take it that my speaking my mind was a bad thing, and I have since figured out that it is indeed a less than productive means. I didn't know that there was a heirarchy for both SPs and perb members and that with that heirarchy came certain things that are to be said to some but not to others. All I can say is that this is benefitting my learning experience, but again, the information is lacking. If you could pm me and explain these unspoken rules in detail, prehaps I could follow them better.

I think like all businesses the SP business should not wash it's dirty laundrey in public: doing so eventually pisses customers off and they'll take their business elsewhere.

What I am interested in good service: with the understanding that the person who is providing the service is doing so willingly and is, hopefully, enjoying what she does. If an agency is ripping off its girls then I would definitely like to know as I will take my business elsewhere.

So, Pandora, I suppose my advice would be this: if you have information that will help me and other clients make more informed choices about where to take our business then by all means please share that information: but if all you have is information which, while it may be important to you, does not really belong in the public domain; then I would advise more discrection on your part.

BTW: thanks for the answer on the other thread.

Yes, that was my original intent, to inform guys about the things which they were uninformed. But as I mentioned, I got a little carried away and brought my own emotions into things. I was unaware that the IB owner kept their names private. I had seen the "D" name mentioned by her before, so I assumed it was fine to use it. I was wrong on that one too. I am wrong on alot lately, it seems. I agree on the part that people say about having a little more discretion. I recognize my fault, and I am making an effort to not do that anymore. Again thank you all for your feedback. Some of it was hard to swallow, but I did, afterall, ask for it. If anyone still has anger towards me, I don't blame you, but for those who understand compassion and forgiveness, understand me when I say that I am truly sorry, and I wish to learn the proper conduct here so it doesn't happen again.

Rightly or wrongly, I am going to accept your apology on behalf of everyone who reads this board. Pandora, sweetie just let it go and let's all get on with life. You have learned a lesson so now you are a smarter person. Put all your energy into the future of the most important person in your life - yourself.

Thank you, captainbob, but I can't rest until I know that the people I hurt or offended have at least heard my apologies. I truly do feel horrible about this. This may be ranting, but I have strived to be a friendly, open hearted person. I meditate, I see a shamanic healer, I do so many things to be the person I want to be, but I guess its not really paying off. This has crushed me to look back and see how I was behaving all the while believing myself to be the good one. I did learn a lesson, true enough, but I still feel like hammered shit about it. Maybe its because I am 20. Maybe its because I was working on the wrong issues with myself. Maybe I am one of those people incapable of change. I don't know. All I do know is I feel bad about it and I just want everyone to know that I feel bad about it. What they choose to do from there is their choice.

Take It From Dr. Moe, Pandora!

Step back from this experience and learn from it. Do not deny any aspects of it, do not rationalize anything, and do not hold resentment towards anyone. You will come out of this just fine if you approach things in this manner. ---Moe

Agency ripoffs.

Cascader: “If an agency is ripping off its girls then I would definitely like to know as I will take my business elsewhere. “

Isn’t practically every agency a ripoff? At least in the girls' minds.

Thanks guys for the moral support. I have learned from this, unfortunately I learned the hard way, but isn't that often the case with people my age? I hold no resentment towards anyone but myself on this one. Well, I will admit, that I would have liked to have more money than the agency let me have, but also, the agency pays for the laundry, pays the rent, pays for advertising, pays the phone bills. They do alot for the girls. Secretly, I would have liked more money, but I countered myself by realizing that they took care of pretty much everything outside the bedroom. That's fair, I think.
