Take it to court, suckers pay fines, instead of exercising their legal rights. You are allowed your day in court, and almost all fines are canceled in court. In my lifetime I have been given four fines, courts dismissed all four. Just because someone on a power trip writes a ticket, means piss all. Make them prove it was warranted in court.

Were those fines passed into law? No.... You cannot tax or fine someone unless it is approved by Parliament. This goes back to the 1200s British Law and the signing of the Magna Carta.....You cannot take personnel property from someone with out a law. There fore any Parliament would have to be fined the same way, breaking there own percieved law.....

On the other hand the idiots should just fucken listen to the police and move on....and go home..... But hey the police should go to grocery stores and give tickets... people all the time break the 6 ft rule.....

On the other hand if a person is out in a park, and no ones around, why does he get a ticket?? Not breaking the social distance rule....

Which brings up how the governments are issuing these orders with out enacting a law or emergency powers? There has to be a lawful order, not a perceived order...

Just another form of taxation.....just like speeding tickets/photo radar/red light cameras.

The Government supposedly gives with one hand whilst taking back twice as much via another way.

Aren't these fines imposed by the provinces, under state of emergency provision?

Think about how close you have to be to someone, to give them a ticket.
Better write themselves a ticket while they are at it. If they ask for ID just cough a lot on it, before handing it to the douche bag.

Less cars on the road to charge with speeding and touching your phone at a stoplight. Cops have to find a new source of revenue generating extorsion.

I think more than the actual fines themselves, it serves as a purpose to spread caution to friends and family members and acts as a deterrent for people going about for unnecessary errands. It's like a security tape on a door you don't want someone to enter. It's a good tactic and I think it works! More of us are risk averse than not.

Bylaw or Public Health Order. Doesn't need to be passed by Parliamnet.
No cars on the road means less revenue from speeding tickets . Just another form of fundraising.

Come on people, this is a public health issue, not a money grab. People are disregarding the physical distancing orders, the only thing to do is hit them in the pocket books.

It looks like Manitoba is cracking down starting next week. $486.00 personal fines, $2500.00 for a business. About 50 city employee's will be out looking for social distancing offenders.

Those so called officials better be walking far apart, not touching anything, and not getting within at least 6 feet of anyone.
