I sucks for the athletes as been preparing for this for years . It sucks for Japan as poured 100's of millions if not Billions into this event . Really sucks for eveyone but think it's a good idea to postpone for maybe a year . I realize postponing has its own set of issues with the athletes, venues and everyone else. But this virus won't be contained by the summer. Safest bet for all . IMHOCanada has pulled out of the Olympics. Not at all likely they are going to be h eld on time but I like the display of leadership.
Agree. That actually took some balls to be the first country to pull out.A pat on the back to the Canadian Olympic Committee for showing leadership. I just hope that many more will follow.

Pulling out now protects our athletes, coaches and support team. No point forcing them to train for an Olympic that is almost certain to be postponed. Bravo Canada!A premature decision.
1. No time to discuss this now. And there is no need to rush. There are more important things now.
2. Should have waited for the IOC decision first.
The IOC are still seeing only $$$, and the Japanese do not want to admit defeat, but there is really no way in hell the games are happening. Not unless they add "grave digging" as a new event.A premature decision.

Famous Canadian swimmer, first President of WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency), and former vice-president of the IOC - I think most Canadians know the name.Olympics to be postponed, says Dick Pound (yes, that's really his name)
