Just reading this article, if true means there are some serious problems in the Quebec Education system, which allows groups to pass on bias information without following the rules of Quebec's syllabus.

Quebec in the past has taught an Quebec First attitude. I'm not sure if English is a class they learn in elementary or in their high school years. Whereas in the rest of Canada there is a requirement for a second language to get to university. I would think that there is a requirement for a second language (not necessary English).

But what scares me about the article is the segregation of certain people and the confinement of learning basic science and or customs of people around you from a young age.. When you are young, you are curious and you seem to learn faster than in older age.

This is probably not happening in just Quebec.

you don't need a second language, "in the rest of Canada"

where do you get this shit from?

all you need is English, if you are a foreign student you need English as a secondary language

Sorry I been out of the school system for over 30 years. To go to any university/college in Canada you needed French 11/12 (in High School)or you had to take an introduction course your first year of college/university. If this has changed please let me know when it was changed. I can't see why it would change because to get into government work at the Federal Level you need 2 languages (English and French). For me French started in Elementary school.
As for the requirement for a second language in Quebec, I have to assume that they have the same rules for a second language to attend post secondary education.
You can get away with English for the most part except in Quebec cause its French first there. If you are dealing with Federal government Bureaucracy, you might need it.

As for Secular, the Quebec Education system should be secular....After all they are banning religious symbols in the workplace.

Difference between Secular and Sectarian. Key difference: Secular means not concerned with or related to religion. A sectarian is a person who is narrowly confined or religiously devoted to a particular sect or group. Sectarian tends to be defined as a person who is completely devoted to a particular sect, which is often religious.

The article is about a guy who went through a system that didn't teach English or science.

Each province is in charge of their own education system.

In Quebec french students start having English courses in 4th grade for a few hours a week . By middle school and high school it becomes a regular course like math , French or any science course.

English students go through the same process for their french courses during their education.

The article mentioned above talks about those religious school that have floorished in the last few decades ...like the CLDS in BC where they put the emphasis on religion over science courses.

Good to notice that the Hasidic schools and communities in Quebec have had free range in those matters for a long time as the ministry of education has been afraid to look like they are persecuting them if they ever crack down in those matters .

Someone might know if they get public founding or not ...I'm not aware and I have not researched it .

That was never true. I took typing in grade 11 instead of french because french education in my province was so horrible. In grade 12 I took accounting. I was not required to take either a french or english course through my 4 years of university to earn my degree in Comp Sci. from the #1 ranked university in my province. I graduated in the late 70s.
