I have been driving in Vancouver since I was 18.

In the past couple of years, the drivers in this city has gotten aggressive and impatience.

They drive like maniacs, cut you off when ever they want, and worst of all just turn with out signaling; drive like they own the road

It's like drive at your own risk now.

Even smaller cities have gotten worse. I've noticed a real increase in incivility in general. Many more people just don't seem to care about playing by the rules of civilization any more.

I have had people flip me the high beam for driving under the speed limit in the slow right hand lane on a 4 lane hwy.

I drive like a grandma sue me.

It’s always been bad and you’re right, it’s gotten much worse.

The likely suspects these days are the Car Share people who don’t own the vehicle and drive crazy. One area it’s gotten very bad is around the Expo Site and Athletes Village. No signal, just cut you off and have a laugh with the passengers.

I can't drive. Or won't drive, depending on how you look at it. I mean, I did have my license at one point but no longer. The fear of driving runs in my family. My Grandma and Aunt both did not drive.

Even yesterday, I was in a friends car and the aggression of other drivers made me feel very uncomfortable. I'd just rather take the bus, let the bus driver deal with it!

I would be one of those people that would flip you off. People who drive under the speed limit are equally as dangerous as those who drive way to fast. If you can't at least drive the speed limit, get a bus pass!

My point exactly people have no patience like the above poster. Probably have a gun ready and loaded if provoked by a granny driver.

Its a 4 lane hwy past 11pm when I was flipped the high beam. Just pass me there is no traffic whatsoever but people love conflicts out there.

Everyone know slow lane is for lame ass drivers. I just go around its that easy

In my neck of the woods, it's usually young and/or petite women giving other drivers grief; driving their husband's/boyfriend's jacked up F350, trying to see over the steering wheel and forgetting to fold out the side-view mirrors.

You do know the speed limit is supposed to be the maximum speed driven, right? I mean, I speed all the time too, but someone doing the speed limit or slower in the right lane isn't doing anything wrong.

Now, the jackasses blocking the left lane, they can die in a fire.

So pass them, and get the fuck out of the way because you are too slow for the guy who wants to pass you.

I reluctantly sold my Harley in December.
I had not ridden it in a year. My best friend, who I ride with a lot, had a near fatal collision. A fucking idiot in a pickup pulled out right in front of him. My buddy has a traumatic brain injury and is deteriorating slowly but steadily.
Every time I see him I feel like crying.
He went from being one of the sharpest business guys in town to not being able to find his way around his own house.
Meanwhile the POS who hit him got off by saying the sun was in his eyes.

People drive like idiots now, while cars and bikes are far more powerful and faster than ever. And it is NOT "just a few" spoiling it for everyone, it is almost everyone.

If the feds came out with a rule banning all vehicle modifications, and put a limit on power, I'd be all for it.

Funny I had zero accidents since Driver's Ed in 1974 to 2017.
Then I got rear ended in broad daylight while stopped at a red light by a bimbo driving her mommy's car. Hit me so hard she dented my gas tank! Did she apologise? No. Did she ask if I was okay? No. She gets out with her bitchy attitude and says "I guess you want to see my license". So I take a picture of it and she gets in her car and takes off.
A month later another young bimbo hits me while I'm parked at Walmart.
Two different young women driving right into a stopped car...WTF?

Texting, it's the new impaired driving. And not just young women.

Things to blame
-fast action video games where you have lots of lives
-the younger generation being more entitled
-A bad transport system, that is actively trying to stop traffic, more obstacles, closing 4 lanes to 2 lanes, major routes that should of been 6 to 8 lanes 30 years ago, short exit ramps and merge lanes. Because of traffic everyone stays 1 car length behind the car in front (so nobody gets in-between).
-the driver's ignorance that traffic behind them want to pass.
-on the trans Canada, people drive 10 km/h over the speed limit in the passing lane and just continue on, not paying attention to the flow of traffic behind them. It would also help if the slow lane stayed 3-5 car lengths separation so that people can pull over and let cars pass. The rule of the road is to keep right except to pass. When passing at 10km/h over it takes about 3 minutes to pass a car.

If a car is behind you let them pass on the highway.
If your car is slow and can't go within 20 km/h of the speed limit you shouldn't be driving on the highway.
Let just say having 8 lanes will improve the trans Canada. Put a speed limit of 130 in the 2 inner passing lanes. Cameras up for cars weaving in the slower lanes, maintain a distance of 4 car lengths minimun at speed. At 130, within 2 years all the idiots should be dead. (well I can hope). The new policy for high speed crashes, fiqure out who caused it and push that vehicle into the ditch....and come back later when they are dead.

I was walking by the MEC in Victoria, I got a walk sign and started walking across the cross walk (at Johnson street), so its a one way at the corner of the MEC there. So all the traffic is stopped, I walk across the road, and this truck with a lady was driving almost hits me at the far side (she was trying to turn right on the red). The thing was she was about 1.5 car lengths from the stop line and floors her vehicle and sees me and slams on the brakes, she stops with the driver's window right in front of me.

So even cross walks are not safe....

So in the past year or so I have almost been hit by a truck and an bicycle on a crosswalk when they should of been paying more attention to the road and traffic signs and lights....

A Car is a 1500 pound weapon. When driving you are not to have any distractions like cell phones, both ears with ear buds in them, people behaving wildly in the car etc. If people are distracting you, pull over and tell them to walk....

All ages, races, genders and creeds drive like dick heads. Been driving for 36 year and seen slow drivers, aggressive drivers, drivers with no confidence, distracted drivers, incredibly self entitled drivers. I love it when the over confident speed racers whip past you and flip you the bird, even though you're driving the speed limit in the slow lane, only to see them 10 miles down the road getting a speeding ticket. Then there's the self righteous a-hole doing the exact same speed as the vehicle in the slow lane because they have some sort of moral superiority over all the other drivers. People change when they get behind the wheel, as I've gotten older I've mellowed out and just ignore all the drama going on around me. I just set my cruise control 10 k over speed limit and drive, giving myself plenty of time to get where I'm going.

The average car is 3000lbs. Some up to 4000lbs. Trucks and SUV's can be double that. And far too many don't know the most basic rules of the road.
