Someone has dedicated an extensive amount of their time and energy over the past several weeks to spoofing my number. Up until today I only had women calling me, most of them sounded quite grumpy, wanting to know why I’ve been calling them. Now I’m also receiving calls from men.

If anyone receives a call from a number that appears to be mine, I assure you it isn’t me. Just block my number to (hopefully) stop them from calling back.

I’m guessing the amount of people who have called me are only a small fraction of the people who are receiving calls from this obsessed nut job.

Is it specifically related to the profession, or just calls in general?
It’s specifically targeted at me. An unbalanced manipulative person with a fixation on me refuses to move on with his life.

I’ve been dealing with one form of fuckery after another. Going on for years now.

Funny how the ones who profess to be saviours are actually the most twisted in reality.

The messed up thing about this is it isn’t really causing me much of a problem. But it’s potentially an issue for anyone receiving the calls. It looks bad when someone is getting unsolicited calls from what appears to be a sex workers number

Robocalls and number spoofing have reached epidemic levels. It's gotten so bad, I rarely take calls and just let them go to voicemail.

It’s not just you !
I constantly get calls from people saying. “Yeah I missed your call?”
I politely say it’s a scam and it wasn’t me.
Kind of an anoying but yeah, I am basically holding a super computer in my hands so the trade off is ok.

CRTC announced a fight on number spoofing a while ago, with the deadline approaching soon:
https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/telemarketing/identit.htm

Hopefully, we get something useful out of this.

"To better protect Canadians against nuisance calls, new measures are be implemented by telecom service providers to fight spoofing . For instance, providers must either implement a system to block calls within their networks or offer call-filtering services. By December 2019, Canadians should receive fewer unwanted calls thanks to these new safeguards."
