Thread: Would you vote for Tulsi Gabbard?

Would you vote for Tulsi Gabbard?

Tulsi Gabbard is exposing the Democratic Party in the United States for what they have become over the years, a pro-war party. By telling the truth about Hillary Clinton and her thirst for wars, she has now become a Russian agent. (Where have I heard that one before?)

So my question is: If you were able to vote in the U.S. election in 2020, and she was the Democrat nominee for president, would you vote for her?... I would.

I would vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever she or he may be, but I would not vote for Ms. Gabbard in the primary. Rather, I'd support Senator Sanders.

I wouldn't vote for Ms. Gabbard in the primary either, but if you were to ask me with whom I'd rather share a social dinner, it would be Gabbard hands down.

Ya I would too. She's calm, she has mainstream values, and she thinks before she speaks.

I'm Canadian so I don't get a US vote but my fave presidential ticket would be Buttigieg (Pres) and Gabbard (VP).

Its rare that any of us speak favourably about US politics but when I listen to Buttigieg, Gabbard, (and Sanders), I am hopeful for their country.

I would, definitely. She's the only one with anything close to a sane foreign policy. Of course all the hawks, be they Republican or Democrat, hate her for pointing out all their foreign policy failures not to mention the ways in which the elite Democrats managed to alienate their party's own grassroots supporters. They try to smear her as disloyal (despite her military service) so nobody takes what she's saying seriously, and instead of damaging her, it just makes them look dirty and paranoid.

As for Hillary Clinton, since she lost in 2016, she didn't only label Gabbard as a "Russian asset". She also said the same about Green party leader Jill Stein, and I have heard a lot of die-hard Clinton supporters make the same claim about Bernie Sanders too. Easier to spout conspiracy theories than admit mistakes, I guess.

Buttigieg, really? Please elaborate. I'm quite surprised.. Is it more his delivery or policies?

He has a good stage presence which means he's electable. He's calm, cool, and collected. Good qualities for a pres. He's a Rhodes Scholar. He doesn't have radical ideas. He's a Navy officer vet with combat experience. I think that military experience is an underrated resume item for presidential candidates.

Both he and Gabbard have military experience (she is still in the army reserves as a Major, apparently). But they have very different views on foreign policy - his is much more in line with the orthodoxy.
