My point exactly! But I will give Elsi the benefit of the doubt and suggest she would agree with you on this point.I absolutely cannot empathise with the ones who are perpetrating scams.

I know you have good sense of humor cowboy! Just in case you thought it otherwise, I said that as a joke my friend. (Mods please note)Oh sure buddy.....give the Mods another reason to review my account.....
If I had another account I'd come up with something less obvious....like Sybian2....or Sygetsbannedalot.
But thanks for remembering I don't, nor can have a phone.
I say hello once, if nobody responds within about a second, I've already hit the end call button. What I hate is the recorded ones that comes on after you answer the phone, there is a pause after u wasted your breath saying hello a couple of times then the recording starts, leaves me pissed knowing I got suckered again
Occasionally if they speak up before I have a chance to hang up, if its a guy I cut them off and politely decline their offer. If it is a female, I get all creepy on her.I say hello once, if nobody responds within about a second, I've already hit the end call button.
Today, while I was having lunch....
Her: Good Afternoon, Is this Mr. T.
Me: Yes, I am. How can I help you?
Her: Oh, I am fine thanks for asking. How is your day going?
Me: It was going good till you called!!!
I slam the phone down.
Have you ever been rude to Shaw, Telus, Revenue Canada, Microsoft, Windows, Credit Bureau, Credit Card company, CIBC, CCIB, CCBB, BCCIC, CiCCB, ABCD, FUMF................. ?
Now that is funny right there!Occasionally if they speak up before I have a chance to hang up, if its a guy I cut them off and politely decline their offer. If it is a female, I get all creepy on her.
"You sound nice, what do you look like?" "What are you wearing right now?" "Are you a dirty girl?"
They hang up pretty quick. LOL!
Cheers

Sorry man but I have a hard time believing this.I worked at Rogers years ago, and similarly did the door to door campaign with Shaw as well when they entered the market for phone services. You don't want to be rude to people who have access to your phone records, your SIN, your address, or your personal info on file. I worked in the corporate side of Rogers and we used to get all sorts of people running businesses call in and make a fuss over the smallest things, in many cases they'd get rude and sometimes go overboard beyond anything. Many agents would out of spite pass information over to CRA on some of the business customers and they'd make an outrageous claim against the business and CRA would usually audit these places.
Before she left I became suspicious of the caller and took another run at her asking who had called. She told me the call came from an investigator by way of the Consulate General of China here in Vancouver. The most sinister aspect of the would be scam though is that in addition to telling her to go home, to cease all communications and make arrangements to pay the fine, he wanted her family contact information. After looking this up it turns out the scammer will then threaten parents back in Asia saying they have their son or daughter, who at that point could have isolated hemself, and demand a ransom. We don’t know how, but they had her name, and she was manipulated into telling them more which shaped the con. Because she was tricked into telling them she had been to mainland China, they made up some customs offence but would likely have come up with other BS depending on her answers.
I can unequivocally say fuck these people!
This was over 10 years ago in my case when people would have to give a SIN to get started with a new account or their corporation number. You might have forgotten that you ever had to give that info. I wasn't the person with that type of time on his hands, but there were plenty of people that were vengeful enough to put in the effort. It doesn't take much to get the CRA to do an audit on a business if the person comes up with a good enough story. An audit doesn't mean a business would get fucjed over, it's more of an inconvenience to have to get your paper work together reach out to your accountant and have him clear the issue up. The one guy that would do it was some lose who had orginally worked in CRA himself and the other guy was taking accounting classes in school, so those were the goons who knew what to say to the CRA. The rest were just writing bad reviews on yelp or online resources at the time sometimes, or calling ldb and having restaurants investigated.Sorry man but I have a hard time believing this.
My phone company knows my name, address and phone number. They certainly don't have my SIN or know anything about the finances or other intricacies of my business to tell others. CRA just doesn't take some anonymous callers information as gospel. You need to provide them with some pretty compelling information on the individual's or business' tax and financial situation for them to even take a look at someone. Otherwise they would have every single agent and auditor spending their careers chasing false leads called reported by every angry boyfriend, ex-spouse, neighbor, co-worker or phone company employee out there.
