So....thoughts, rants and outright speculation.....

My position on Trump really started before the US election, based on Trump's Character. His business practice tells how he would treat other people, his many businesses that had to declare bankruptcy, while still hanging onto his money, where contractors were paid cents/dollar, tells me what he thinks of other people in general. He would screw them over, just to keep himself bouyant in money... His TV show, wow... he loved firing people, he did it with glee. And I don't think he has a moral leg to stand on.... You have to wonder how he got the bible thumpers to back him in the last election ... Thats almost proof that most Americans marry their first cousin and have been inbreeding for years....

Then there is the smug Trump.... days before the election he said if he didn't win, it was because Hiliary rigged the voting stations.... ??

The phone call to the Ukraine President, well he shouldn't even talked about his political rival (Biden) at all in my opinion. If you want something investigated in another country, you have the State Department ask, and not during an election campaign (primaries), that just smacks of interference and obstruction ....

But most likely the senate (full of same party republicans) will block on party policy (he is a republican so lets protect him).

So the impeachment won't go anywhere....

In softness, strength.
His smugness and arrogance is what makes him a laughing stock, it's just that his base (whats left of those that havent quit or got fired),
haven't been stabbed in the back for fear of reprisal from this nazi thug.

Bible thumpers only care about one issue when it comes to their fav politico.
As long as they are against abortion, it's all good.
How naive can these people be?

He should've been kicked to the curb years ago but I'll believe it when I see it.

I love how they announced the intent to begin examining the possibility of impeachment. Impeachment is itself just an examination process.

So they had a press conference to talk about planning to talk about talking about removing him.

Pelosi may have just single-handily destroyed the Democratic Party by being tricked into an impeachment fight that Trump actually wanted. There was no quid pro quo in Trump talking to the Ukrainian president. On the other hand Biden is on tape saying that money is going to be held back unless they did a favour for his son...plus there are Ukrainian ties to Obama, Clinton, etc that are now going to be out in the open for the public to see. Pelosi just made the political mistake of her life by caving in to her radical left base.

I agree. His popularity among his base has been dwindling over the past 12 months because of some of his decisions as is evident by the criticism he even gets form his own personal propaganda machine, FOX News. This will rally the troops, so to say and fire up not only his base but all Republicans heading into the next election.
The Dems should have just left it alone and let his presidency self destruct to have a chance in 2020.
Now they have lit a fire under their enemy.

Care to post a link proving this claim?

That would be hot news if it were true. Fox Entertainment would be on this like flies on shit.

Agree and let's face it....Trump, whether you like him or not, he's got the hidden resources behind him. I said in a previous thread here.......with all of the negative hoopla going against Trump and Trudeau for that matter, both will take office again. That is my prediction. Nothing surprises me in the political world. That's why they call it politics. It's media noise!! Left vs right.

I don't think it's going to work. The Republicans are basically a cult by this point.

Read an article this morning that 45's next diversion could even stretch to start a war with Iran.
That would take the heat of this issue for a while. Plus people who've held that seat before him seemed to have done well in the polls during war times.
Will have to wait and see how this goes...

I added the ...s as 45 really likes using those in his tweets...

At least John Bolton is gone. I'm not a fan of Iran (although they should get quite a bit of credit for marshaling forces to fight ISIS), but Bolton is a straight up sociopath.

Congress=Senate+House of Representatives.
Congress is not proceeding towards impeachment.

Pelosi is Speaker of the House and the preliminary hearing is there.
Actual impeachment is a trial before the Senate. The Reps have the Senate under control and no impeachment will happen.

As long as “Moscow Mitch” is the Senate Majority Leader, zero Democratic bills will be considered. Most of the Bi Partisan bills are also not considered.

Trump will not be impeached!

Anyone who thinks that it will happen is delusional.
Pelosi has been set up, and she fell for it.
This is the death blow to the Democrats the Republicans have been waiting for.
When the dust settles, the last few remaining standing on the left will be battle scarred, and weary, leaving Trump the victory in the 2020 election.
Pelosi is so stupid that she cannot even see it coming.
I'm sitting back and laughing, let the game begin!

I also think it’s a dumb move.

All #45 will be doing in the 2020 campaign is crowing ‘witch hunt’ and the Maga types will only see Dems as sore losers from 2016.

The way to get this guy is through Indictments following the money with the emoluments laws and corruption with money laundering.

The way their republic is structured having a majority Senate makes Impeachment impossible no matter what Congress’ investigation uncovers.

Wow! There is a lot of ignorance on this site about the difference between impeachment and being forced out of office. Two very different events!

Clinton was impeached. Don't believe me ??? See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment_of_Bill_Clinton

So the people on this site that believe that Trump will not be impeached are either very ignorant or optimistic fools. Trump will almost certainly be impeached, especially since the Democrats hold the house and the Dems have a great deal more ammunition for impeaching Trump than the Republicans did when they impeached Clinton.

Was Clinton forced out of office. No! For the same reason Trump will not likely be forced out of office, becasuse the Republicans own the senate and it requires a 66% vote to force sitting president out of office.

Clinton was not only NOT forced out of office, but the American people were so pissed at the Republicans for impeaching him that they voted Clinton in for another term. Trump can only hope the same happens for him, though personally, I doubt it. Trump is already despised by a large percentage of the American people. Plus, I'm sure the majority of USA citizens are aware how idiotic they appear to the rest of the civilized world for having voted Trump into power in the first place. They are likely not to want to look like idiots a second time.

Nobody's talking about the breach of security. The Dems are always going on about Trump's loose lips, but what the hell are intelligce people doing gossiping about private calls between national leaders? A former operative stated : The content and transcripts of these calls are highly restricted. The whistleblower makes clear in his complaint that he did not listen to a call in question, nor did he read the transcript — he was told about the call by others. If true, intelligence officers have grossly violated the rules as well as the trust placed on them to protect this sensitive information.

This will end very badly for the Dems, who are fixated on "getting" Trump, rather than formulating policy, finding a decent candidate and passing legislation. Their thirst for power and failure to accept the result of the last presidential election, has no limits. They would rather see their country further divided, than allow Trump's term to expire, and fight him in another election.
