When in Van weather permitting def hit up Capilano suspension bridge in west Van, if possible peak to peak gondola in Whistler, for food, if you're a meat eater Hy's steakhouse or Black And Blue/Glowbal, if pasta you can't beat Anton's in Burnaby on Hastings. Just a couple off the top of my head

Best bang for buck / time effective attraction is Grouse Mountain. I’d only suggest going up there on a nice day for the time of year you’ll be here as there’s far less to see when it’s cloudy or rainy. Bishop’s, Sushi Bar Maumi would be my higher end dining recommendations. Joe Forte’s and Cardero’s for fine-casual seafood and west coast fare. Via Tevere for Neopolitan pizza and definitely hit up Anton’s for home cooked pasta. I’m assuming you’ll be downtown so if you’re looking for dim sum, I’ll recommend Kirin for convenience although Western Lake is my personal fave. I haven’t tried Blossom or Mott 32 yet, but I recommend them anyway due to peer acclaim.

Edit: Can’t believe I forgot MDG for Korean and Kishimoto for Japanese cuisine. You can also get a bit of both under one roof at Gyu-Kaku, one of my favourite restaurants.

I hope you have an enjoyable and prosperous visit to our beautiful soggy city.

Don’t waste money/time on steak in Vancouver. It will never taste as good as Alberta or T.O.

The seafood is where it’s at, here. You can go to those fancy sushi places like Miku and it’s pretty with waiters in white gloves, but Toshi’s is unpretentious quality. Check out Fanny Bay Oyster bar for, yeah oysters and Chambar for mussels.

Phnom Penh has insane Vietnamese chicken wings that will ruin your life. If you just hang out around downtown Robson, there are tons or Korean restaurants and ramen bars that are high quality like Muratama.

If you like outdoorsy stuff, just check out the tourist guides. They will say pretty much what anyone’ll suggest (sea wall, suspension bridge, hikes blah blah). If you head to Deep Cove for a hike, get a honey donut.

Kitsilano is the popular beach, Jericho is the nice beach that less people go to. Wreck beach has naked people.

Oh yeah, we have good coffee and ice cream, here. JJ Bean, Parallel 49 and Bean Around the world are our fancy chains. Lucky’s Donuts are at Parallel 49. Ernest’s Ice Cream and Rain or Shine ice cream are choice.

Beer: Brassneck brewery, Daagerad (can’t spell it), Bicycle

Take a ferry up to the sunshine coast as well as Bowen Island, both are short rides and you can return back to the lower mainland with the same ticket. I also recommend making the trek out to Harrison Hot Springs, perhaps you can find a favorite client who is willing to take you up there the night also. It all varies on how far you're willing to go around BC from Vancouver.

I love to get up early and watch the sunset from Cambie Bridge. Start from City Hall station, then walk across the bridge. Walk down to the aquabus landing (look it up on the google maps) then take the ferry to Granville Island. It's a cute way to start the day. Once you arrive at Granville Island, go exploring. Try some local fruit, buy some cheese, listen to the buskers, visit some galleries, eat some bagels/donuts, take some pictures from the Beaches restaurant.

IMO, on a sunny day, there's nothing better in Vancouver.
