I’m a bit bewildered, but I was recently scammed out of $300 by Payden (0297) while she was visiting Victoria. I invited her over Monday night at around 10:30. She ended up coming a couple of hours later and texted me it was due to her having to let her dogs out and getting gas. Anyhow when Payden finally arrived, we ended up having a smoke on my balcony and had a good chat while we waited for my email money transfer to arrive/clear - she seemed pretty cool at that point. Afterward we headed to the bedroom, she asked if she could use the bathroom - no problem. Anyhow she came out of the bathroom in distress saying that her friend texted that one of her dogs escaped from where she was staying and her friend couldn’t find her. It was maybe five minutes of her looking at her phone saying she was waiting to hear from her friend and in the meantime showed me pictures of her dogs. It all seemed very legit at the time. She eventually said she was sorry but she felt too anxious and she needed to go look for her dog. I told her I understood and suggested she could just send me an email money transfer for the $300. She agreed but was too flustered to send it right then and there. She said she would send it on the way back to her friend’s (sounded like somewhere in Colwood). Anyhow, after she left I never received an e-transfer. I messaged her several times yesterday (hope you found your dog etc.) and nothing. I’m shocked because she has gone to the trouble to get a verified profile, and has been using the same number for years. Not to mention, her driver was driving a marked company vehicle for a respected Vancouver construction company. I did realize she had mixed reviews, but never thought she would be a scammer. Anyhow, I’m out $300 and figured I should warn others to stay away.
