You can love or hate the leaders of the main political parties, come up with whatever excuses to put blame on political figureheads; in the end you can only blame yourself; you the voter.

Everybody votes for their own best interests. Its always about where does the tax money go to?

Have any of you seen a complete federal budget? How about a accounting of that budget, what the departments spend. You as a voter would be horrified on the shit they spend money on. Its all about I'll rub your back and you do the same to me... at the political level.... its about lobbyists and the money they spend to get certain things their way...

This shit will not change. These human beings are greedy, aggressively ambitious, and really don't give a fuck about the little guy (joe blow taxpayer).

So instead of complaining about past mistakes/scandals etc; put a positive spin on how the leaders of the parties are putting forward a better future for all Canadians, not just the wealthy and people who can afford it. Where joe blow taxpayer can get all his kids through college/university/trade school, to find good paying jobs to support themselves in the future....

Crime is a major area for improvement. Hundreds of Millions of tax dollars lost in the process of crime. This includes money laundering, illegal drugs, outright theft of property. That hardly makes the political news these days. The mob, and crime gangs make billions of dollars not taxed; affecting our youth and property values and insurance... not to mention loss of revenue for the Canadian government...

Contracts with the Federal government can be lower; due to overpricing of labour, material, and profit margins. Companies get government contracts to make money and profits...

Sometime in the near future there will have to be mega construction projects built throughout Canada to lower carbon emission etc through high speed trains/transit between cities to replace airplanes. Yes Canadians will have to build a new transport system. New housing to be built to higher standards to withstand hurricane forces, better efficient houses through design, and not energy hogs to maintain the temp in a house. New energy grids to take priority over idiots rights to the foul sight of windmills and solar farms. All new house construction to have ample room for solar/wind and increase in storage capacity.

Eventually we will have to have oil pipelines to the Arctic, the Queen Charlotte Islands, hopefully we only use these gas/oil resources as the source for plastics and other materials, not just to burn it for heat. Its funny that the oil line supporters are only in it; to be able to drive their own trucks. That oil in the ground is important because of the materials it can give us. (Again most people are short sighted).

Think positive about the future, make it a better future for your kids. If you don't then you are the problem...

Made me want to puke when a "reporter" asked Trudeau if he would ease Cabinet Confidentiality so as to enable the RCMP investigation over the SNC Lavalin scandal and Trudeau's answer to that non rhetorical question was Lieberal Rhetoric that danced around the question which should have been either Yes or NO.Trudeau dodged it as if he were in the House of Commons during question period. What really pisses me off is that the member of the MSM did not PRESS Trudeau with the follow up of "It was not a rhetorical questions please answer the question. Will you ease Cabinet Confidentiality to allow the RCMP to interview people and collect documents....YES or NO"....would not happen though as Canadian Media wont bite the hand that feeds them much like a common dog.

Trudeau is the only Prime Minister in the history of this country who has racked up 2 ethics violations and the SMUG fucker wears them like badges of honor and is proud of them.Typical Lieberal ARROGANCE,do as I say not as I do.

What was truly cringe worthy was the fact the spineless bastard dropped the writ on the anniversary of 9/11.

I agree with you on this one. The Canadian mainstream media are 99% Liberal hacks. They are such a bunch of pussies when it comes to asking Turdeau questions.
Meanwhile Scheer passes on attending a Pride parade and they attack him like he's Hitler.
Can't wait for Jim Carr to knock on my door.

Storm Rider and JB, you can remove JT from office, you have to vote.

But from there it gets tricky... your vote won't go directly to voting JT out of office; you will vote for the party of your choice in your voting district (ridings) putting an MP into a chair in parliament. Depending on the party that has won in your riding?

I wanna hear about the good things your candidates are going to do for Canada, not what JT did in the past; grow up and get over it, pave (or vote) your way to a better Canada.

JT did not show up for the televised leaders conference. He took a book out of TRUMP's handbook- do the unexpected. The Con, NDP and Green leaders said he was scared to have conversation with them. What he had done is put himself up in front of them all. Now he knows what the other leaders are after.

There are 3 more TV question periods, 2 in French (he speaks french better than the other Party Leaders) and 1 in English. Apparently the Con, NDP and Green are not so fluent in French....

You know the saying that came out lately "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". It is true of the privy council too. What happens there is the content of the Canadian Government.

Mr. Scheer snide remarks about how Trudeau should release the privy council information, shows that he is not ready to partake of the discussion that go on within a Privy Council. All Scheer sees is the carnage he can try to produce in order to take someone down. That tells me about his character, anything to achieve his political ends...

So just like Vegas and your buddy fucked an escort, you don't go home and tell his wife what he did.... it ends the marriage and probably yours too; because if your buddy fucked someone, so did you...... you fucked your buddy, his marriage and your marriage too.... KARMA

So to win a majority, a party has to take Quebec and Ontario. Quebec will be split between Liberal and Green. Ontario will be taken by Liberal due to Ford. Ford will keep his mouth shut in the next 39 days so that the Conservatives can have half a chance of any seats.

BC - Liberal,

AB Conservative due to ignorant rednecks out of their oil jobs; that are more blind than easterners 40 years ago, about Western concerns...

rest of the provinces will be Liberal or Green....

Real reason the conservatives will loose- they flirt with the abortion issue, meaning church doctrine (teaching) outweighs the state's doctrine (rights for the people)... People here in Canada are not ignorant of what is happening in the US with regards to ROE vs WADE; and state laws to circumvent ROE vs WADE. You will keep seeing the little reference of Scheer's statements on abortion throughout the campaign.. conservative to win- have to completely divorce themselves from church backed memberships and doctrine on abortions... business, we'll help you in your business and create new wealth for all Canadians.

Now a other factor is the Liberal Party is a younger party and conforms to opinions of younger people who control 30% of the vote in Canada... The Liberals are reaching for the future, while the conservatives are looking at the past.
The liberal mistakes- you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet. Lets get on with the future... Growth and Learning are sometimes painful etc... how to gain experience- make mistakes...and so on....

For your taxes to go down you need a very good economy and price of oil to go up, or increase the population of Canada for a larger tax base...
Reason for all the big taxes. small population, large infrastructure across the country, social services.

LOL! Gotta agree with you here.
Just like a couple of Singh's answers. Just talked in circles and never actually answered the question.
As much as I would never vote for her because most of her party's policies are not in line with my personal philosophy, Elizabeth May gave the most informative answers.
Even my 20 year old daughter (yes my millennial kid actually watched some of the debate) even commented that they talk a lot without saying anything.
That's why these debates are such a useless exercise. Nobody ever really says anything.
Their handlers have them so prepared and cautious.
I don't think there is anyone out there who decides who to vote for based on these debates.
They seem to be something the press and the networks have decided are essential to the process.
I don't blame JT for skipping it. If I was a politician, there are numerous ways I'd rather spend my campaign time.
Why was I watching then? Because it was a cool, rainy night and there was nothing else on (no football and hockey season just starting) while I an doing my cardio workout.

that's not true anymore, you can win without Que, with the increase in seats now, in BC/AB/ONT after the recent increases

you take Ont, most of the west and a few in Atlantic region, Que becomes irrelevant

How do you think Harper got a majority, he didn't take Que

it's time the rest of the country stops putting up with Que's bullshit

+1 to the above ^

I have voted in every single election both Provincial/Federal since I have been able to vote.Provincially I voted NDP once when I lived in BC and after I saw the train wreck of governance which saw the NDP burn through three leaders due to scandals Harcourt/Sihota/Clark I would never vote NDP again.Nothing but Socialist dirtbags who enrich themselves and their cronies.Federally I voted Lieberal up until the Sponsorship Administration scandal which saw after the Gomery enquirey that the Lieberals STOLE 250 MILLION
of taxpayer money and fed it to cronies in Quebec. After that I jumped to the other side of the fence and vote Conservative.Strategically shave a monkey and dress it in a nice suit and give it a blue tie and I would vote for over any Lieberal.

With regards to the "fake news" about the Trudeau Foundation. It is not fake news. The numbers might be a bit off but it is basically accurate.Donations have surged since 2015 though the media in Canada wont point this out for fear of being blacklisted.

Realistically, the Libs need both the majority of Ontario and Quebec though, because besides that, all they will have is Atlantic Canada and a handful of seats in BC.

Over the years, and I've been around for a few, some might say a few to many I never noticed any difference to how I chose to lead my life no matter who was in power....so come the election I'll probably vote for whoever has the biggest tits.

What platform are the Conservatives running on? What are their aims/goals/policies that they will follow? Why should the average Canadian vote for them?

Their stand on climate change is to bury their head in the sand like an ostrich. My solution would be to pipe the nearest smokestack exhaust to the elected MPs house.... Kinda like breathing directly from your car's ICE exhaust....Pollution control and air quality will go way up, and more renewable energy plans approved; all in the interest of providing clean indoor air to the local MP.

Have to hand it to Harper for cutting the GST to 5%. If Harper won the last election, he would of further cut government expensives (departments), cutting into major programs and well needed upgrades for government services., cause that would of been the only way to make up for the loss in renvenue from oil prices which he was basing the future income of the government (he put his eggs all into the oil basket, and when oil fell from over 100/barrel, the eggs broke).

The next majority government will have to raise the GST to 6%. or 7% to bring back the pay down the debt. Or find new sources of income, probably off non-renewable resources like oil, gas, metals and minerals. Every body love the tax word....

Cutting taxes- Look at the shit BC is in, due to Liberal and NDP governments promising to lower the BC taxes in the early 2000s .... It got so bad the last Liberal government in BC, allowed money laundering to take place at government casinos....

As for Native claims, the federal government will go broke, trying to fulfill all their treaties with the Natives (hundreds of billions if not trillion of Cdn dollars)...

AS for the Foundation....
www.trudeaufoundation.ca/en/about
"The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is an independent and non-partisan charity established in 2001 as a living memorial to the former prime minister. In 2002, with the support of the House of Commons, the Government of Canada endowed the Foundation with the Advanced Research in the Humanities and Human Sciences Fund. The Foundation also benefits from private donations. By granting doctoral scholarships, awarding fellowships, appointing mentors, and holding public events, the Foundation encourages critical reflection and action in four areas important to Canadians: human rights and dignity, responsible citizenship, Canada and the world, and people and their natural environment."
It is a charity... Has to meet certain criteria as a charity. For people with only grade 8 education, pls use google....

Grade 9 students today can barely read, look at how they text (a comment on the overall education system today of passing failing students to keep par with their like aged classmates). A good communicator today really has to spell it out... I am typing very slowly, so you can keep up; it would take more than 2 or 3 sentences to tell people how the Canadian Electoral System works. JB was using sarcasm; for people with Grade 8 education; again they can use google...

Just to let you know 68.5% of voters voted in 2015 federal election....The Liberals had 39.9% of the popular vote.

I will most likely vote Liberal to stay the course of things in motion. People need help and support. Not a cut in support.
