And here I thought it was actual magic :scared:

Personally, I'm just waiting for the day that SP's start using Square for all their payment collection needs, especially for lazy buggers like me! But then I guess society would need to drop their weird puritanical values and regulate the industry... Buuuuut I digress, you were explaining your luxury incall condo magic?
You and everyone else!

Lmao I have had square since Christmas 2018! It’s a huge hassle with lots of red tape but it has been possible to get a business license as an escort in Vancouver for a long time.

Waaaaaaaaaah We truly live in the golden age of digital conveniences :jaw: Good thing I live in Vancouver I guess eheheheh...

Do you find that more people take advantage of the square payment, or do they mostly prefer the cash based model?

Cash has the benefit of being mattress-able in a world where banks can (and do) decide that, while legal, sex work is an "unsavory" client to have at a bank and we're going to have to close your account.

And here I thought banks were the unsavory ones! Well the solution seems simple if you think about it, either start a SP only credit union, or only accept Dogecoin...

These ironies are not lost on me, unfortunately.

Re starting a SP-only credit union... can I start on that next week? I've kinda got my hands full right now.

Perb doesn’t have a like button (yet) so I am just dropping a note to let you know you seem like a likeable person :)

I don't mind doing a small deposit via online giftcard, but I try avoid e-transfer as it displays my real name.

From what I understand, most banks allow you to change your settings so you can edit the name that appears to the recipient

Well I am not totally a cash guy but I do mostly e transfers. My name is known anyway, and I stay with the same gal or maybe just 2 or 3. We often visit each other homes, and travel together. Names and passport information is exchanged. Not a big deal.

The advantage is that i can act spontaneously when needed, and not have to find a certain bank whatever. Just do a transfer. Never been a problem. Now, with a new gal, no, I would like to establish some trust and familiarity before doing that, and most gals aren't going to trust a new client to walk out the door and send money. I have a special account for this.
The down side is a serious one. I used to date a gal who ran afoul of the income tax people. She wasn't paying. Got caught when she applied for child welfare and they started investigating her. Caused her one lot of trouble, and all those deposits into her account had to be explained. So if your SP is paying her income taxes, its ok. If not, she soon might be.

Interesting, when I asked a couple years ago, RBC wouldn't let me. Let me look into this again.

edit: don't see this option on RBC :(

There is a paper trail, no matter which bank you use. E-transfer is not promised to be anonymous.

Some banks allow changing the name that shows in the e-mail to recipient, some not. While that feature prevents you from being outed immediately, the recipient's bank still gets your real name on the record when the transaction is settled, along with some other details. It works the other way too: the sender's bank gets the real name of the recipient when transaction is settled.

Thanks for clarifying.

I normally pay cash only. There are a handful of ladies that I would consider doing e-transfer with for a first meet, but they would have to be well reviewed, highly reputable to do so. A solid presence here and on Twitter goes a long way.

I have in the past done e-transfer with a couple regulars who found themselves in a tight spot to make rent. We make it up with a session in the future. Being a regular with me puts you in a category somewhat near friendship and I believe we should help another out when the going gets tough. It happens to everyone eventually. Many may call me naive or a sucker, but I haven’t been burned yet. Karma comes around to help you when you need it too.
