Minority governments can be good for getting things done if the numbers pan out into to something stable. When there was a minority under Harper, shit just got crazy, because nobody had the numbers to go over the top without the toxic BQ being involved.

Scheer losing is important to me. I don't care who he loses to, as long as it's not going to be another so-called "majority" that sticks us with Harperism for 4 years or more. The real Conservative leader is Doug Ford anyway; either that or Kenney. Scheer is such a milquetoast; his nice guy act exists to whitewash what his party will really do, and who they really take their orders from.

That being said, I think the Liberals getting a minority government would be better than a "majority" they wouldn't deserve. Trudeau needs a slap in the face for his conduct, and I think the voters are in the mood to give him one. For the Liberal party, Trudeau has gone from an asset to a liability, and I bet if that "alternative leader" scenario was asked in polls, we'd see the public is primarily mad at him. So if he only got a minority, the party might still dump him for someone with more balls and less baggage. I can live with that. (As long as it's not Freeland - ugh.)

Whatever happens, First Past The Post will still suck and give us a distorted result. (You can thank Trudeau for that too - it was supposed to be GONE!)

The only thing FPTP has for it is supporters who are better at lying - or those dumb enough to believe the lies.

As for Harper, no I'm never going to not hate that piece of shit. He's as close to Stalin as Canada ever had. 100 fucking years from now, I'd still piss on him, his legacy, and all his supporters.

I totally agree with this. The people that want the crapulence of Proportional Representation are the filthy power hungry bastards that cant get a decent number of people elected. They are the ones that want Participation Trophy Democracy.Oh the Greens had say 14% of the popular vote but in EVERY riding only a single candidate gets enough votes to actually WIN the seat......how the fuck do you arbitrarily decide if it happened and the Greens got 14% of the seats in Parliament where they will represent?

How do you explain to say a riding in Saskatchewan that elected a Conservative MP but due to participation trophy politics they get a Green MP as a kick in the teeth consolation.

In Europe they have Proportional Representation and that is because of the Socialist sentiment in Europe......and Europe and especially Britain is going down the toilet these days.

As for rlock saying that Harper is the Canadian equivilent to Stalin.....wow dude take another tab of ACID is all I can say.You are wacked out of your mind for that comparison.Joseph Stalin was directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of between 50 MILLION and up to 120 MILLION people when he was in charge of his murderous Communist Dictatorship....which was established under the guise of Socialism.

I can only guess that rlock is a filthy Socialist who cant afford to buy a home in Vancouver and is the type that would much enjoy a crash in housing prices so he could get on the property ladder at the expence and suffering of everybody else.

From Google:
Holocaust killed 6 million in concentration camps, Stalin killed 20+ million in land reforms and camps, Mao killed 20 million to 45 million in land reforms.

Your numbers are accurate...but some that where there, claim it to be much higher, and possibly out by 1.3 to 1.6 million, as many regions did not keep records.

Stalin starved to death 16 million of his own people....the remaining 4 million victims, where either executed in front of their families at home, worked to death in Gulags ,where slaves that worked without sustenance and then executed in Siberia, and stacked up in serpentine graves, still visible today....in my family there was one survivor.
He told the story many times of how men where worked without food as slaves....when they could no longer stand, they where thrown into a trench, and buried alive with bulldozers.
.....all the farm animals where taken by the Government to supply military, when the wildlife was depleted, including rats and field mice, the children started to die first....if they weren't buried by the family due to weakness in graves ,their bodies where stolen, or exhumed by other unrelated families, and butchered to feed themselves...anything left over was sold, or traded to other starving people.
There are people walking around old folks homes in BC, that have consumed other human beings, because of Stalin and his Government policies.....I know them personally, and it's only confessed at the end of life, when they seek forgiveness.

We cannot know what it is truly like to starve in Canada...and watch your children waste away, because the only thing left after two months of no food... is eating old leather, dirt ,insects....or other people.

Did Harper starve and or kill or have killed 100 MILLION+ people under his authority/government?......no.

I see though that rlock has not replied to my post and most likely because actual facts cannot be argued.....his next post will most likely degrade to name calling etc which the Left resorts to when it loses a rational discussion.

With regards to the sweeping purges in the USSR I speak from what I have been told by people who managed to live through it.From Poland to Moscow I have heard the words of people that managed to LIVE through that horror.Hitler was a maniac infected with syphillis who had a personal hatred of Jews.Stalin was a total fucking monster who had 100 MILLION of his own people killed directly or they were worked to death with starvation helping the goal.

All of the actions by Stalin were in the ideology of Socialism.......give me Capitalism every fucking chance.

Harper's legacy? lol

he didn't do anything worth talking about that really affected anyone dramatically

and your intelligence is showing with the Stalin comment

are you a distant cousin to Turdeau?

he likes to call everyone a Nazi who doesn't share his delusional views of reality

you should read what another Liberal thinks of that

Harper did get us through a world wide recession , with limited impact.
When people where losing their homes and businesses in the US, the people of Canada had it dramatically better.
For once instead of a Lawyer...or Subsitute Drama Teacher for a Prime Minister , we had an Economist PM that actually had a clue as to how too keep our head above water financially , when the rest of the world circled the drain.
What he may have lacked in personality, he made up in sound decisions to keep the country from going bankrupt....id take him back in a heartbeat over the current shitshow.

Read Stephen Gordon's piece in Maclean's from 2012 - the limited impact of the recession had everything to do with existing banking & mortgage rules and the financial health of our government inherited from the Chretien Liberals. If the collapse had been delayed, we may have suffered more dire consequences as Canadian banking was greedily starting to pick up junk bonds from the US and mortgage regulations were being loosened (ie 40 year mortgage offerings).

The Canadian economy as a whole has done well during the current Liberal government - sorry Alberta - which is why Scheer can't run on the economy and instead focuses on divisive politics.

Harper was a spokesman for the "Old Stock Canadians" - i.e. white folks who have been around for say 100 years or so. Would Aboriginals be included in this group. But they aren't white? :noidea:

Can I have some of what you are smoking? It obviously makes you delusional that according to Trudeau Canada SHOULD have a "balanced" budget this year of 2019 heading into a Federal Election and all because those pesky "budgets" balance themselves. Not the case and Canada and Canadian taxpayers are on the hook for 19 billion MORE.

Dont give me "sorry Alberta"....if it were not for the Contribution to Federal Coffers from Alberta Canada would have taken a plane trip to Destination FUCKED even with the low oil prices.

Economics 101 - the economy is measured by GDP not government deficits. Another one of your classic straw man arguments.

I'm just wondering?
Does Economics 101 have a definition for " Destination Fucked?"
No it does not nor does the reply to my post. The reply comes but just like Trudeau in question period the answer just dodges the question. What do you expect from someone who takes the word of Macleans which is the CBC in print.

Hey CanineCowboy how about answering the question or debating my statement? Canada goes to the hustings on or before October 2019 and the country will have a 19 BILLION defecit which is 20 BILLION MORE than when the former drama teacher got handed the reigns of government.

Sorry to toss out actual facts and brass tacks......lets see you come back with a logical response and not some regurgitated response that is spun from the state run media.
