Maybe you're using a different computer today. Seen an option in Windows 98 years ago that will change font of a web page.

Might be a local issue. I logged on from Desktop and fonts seemed to be more widely spaced apart.
Did you accidentally activate an accessibility mode in your browser or adjust the page zoom off default?

And re: the original question, as I say to anyone who asks an "...or am I going crazy?" question... why can't it be both? :)

Different OS have different installed fonts, one will be the default. If the page author's CSS calls for a font that isn't on the computer then the computer will use one that it has installed. Hence the same page can look different depending on the fonts available on that machine.
