Hello Victoria!
I have just happened to find this site as I toy with planning a return visit to your lovely city. I was visiting family who had immigrated to BC a month ago, during which I fell in love with Victoria. A splendid climate, gorgeous ocean views, and a plethora of breweries and pubs. There is nothing more that an Irishman needs. Come to think of it, we only really need the latter.
Since I was on vacation, I thought I would keep on with partaking in Canadian pleasures and book an appointment with Jade Anderson. She looks just like a faerie of Irish folklore. Who wouldn't want a shag with a faerie?
I contacted her on a Monday, requested a mid afternoon appointment Tuesday. She said that it was too early, and if I wanted it that early I had to book later in the week. I chose mid afternoon Thursday (I was leaving Friday). We agreed to the service package as listed on her website, and the time and she asked me to contact her a couple hours prior to our appt.
Thursday arrived, I contacted her as per her request, a couple hours prior and then, not knowing the city or the transport system, I caught the bus and found myself early in the general area of town close to her incall (as stated in her ad).
I enjoyed several coffees (there were no pubs in the vicinity), BTW the amount you Canadians charge for a cup of tea is outrageous, and finally 30min prior to our appointment I received a message from Ms. Jade. She said that our appointment time of 2:30 was too early, that I needed to come back for 4pm or later, and that she was no longer offering the service package I had discussed with her so to go to her ad and choose a new one, I could not logistically make a 4pm appointment, but I did see that if I had wanted to I would have had to pay 40% more than our original agreement.
Now I had ferries to catch to Vancouver, as I flew out of YVR the next morning at 5am, and prior commitments I had to keep with family. I had waited patiently for four days for our appointment. I'll admit that I was effin' unhappy with these choices presented to me, and I told her so in my reply.
She responded by saying that she offered a luxury service, that it wasn't a Starbucks, and that I could go f**k myself. I don't have the faintest what that means. Luxury usually means better customer service, aye?
Now I am not privvy to the ways of Canadian culture, or how things operate there. However, was I not justified in being angry that the time and cost of services were changed within 30min of our original appointment? I'll let you decide.
I will, however, now that I have found this brilliant website, plan use it to ensure that on my next visit my time will be better spent.
Until then, sláinte.
