I just changed one of the lights in my track lighting but the new light is not as bright as the old? I tighted it as much as I could with out breaking it. Checked on YouTube for info but couldn't find anything. Anybody give me any advice?

You probably got the right size, right watt, but now they have different ranges of brightness. If it goes on the ceiling, you need to find the brightest they sell. Although I'm not a fan of Home Depot, they have a good system in how they store their bulbs. I'd ask an employee which one is the brightest for what you want to have lit. I had this problem a year ago. Also if there is a dimmer switch, the bulb must be compatible.

I find they only match if I make sure to get the same brand. Just matching specs wasn't enough.

Joe.. All Light bulbs come with a watts rating.. They also, sometimes these days, may come with a lumens rating... Watts is a measurement of power consumption.. Volts times Amps. Lumens is a measurement of light level, or brightness. Although the two are somewhat related one does not equal the other. There are some pretty big differences in efficiency o light bulbs. ie The diff tween incandescent and LED. Hope this makes sense..Solution... Change them all at the same time...All light bulbs have a life so if one dies the rest are gonna go soon. Oh and compare the actual Voltage rating on the old V/S the new... old one might be 120V and the new 130V (rough service) 130 will usually be a lower colour temp. 2800deg. Kelvin But this is a whole different subject.

I just went to Canadian Tire and bought the cheapest one that was the approximate shape and size of the original. But if it was any bigger it would not fit in the cup. So size I think is ok.

What do you mean mean by watt and range of brightness?

This is hilarious. Your first mistake is asking advice about light bulbs on an escort review board. You should be posting on a light bulb review board unless this is code for my dick doesn't get as hard with the new meds.

*Facepalm*

Bulbs are manufactured in a range of brightness and application.

You need to look at your owner's manual to find the right bulb, size and brightness. You can't just go by shape.

This thread has me laughing so hard my eyes and nose are running.

I don't mean to be rude, I've mentioned before, it's hard to express tone over the internet...

A man getting confused over changing a lightbulb :pound:

I'll admit something embarrassing about myself. I've been needing to replace my makeup for quite sometime. But I'm a tomboy at heart. The last 3 times I've attempted makeup shopping I've stomped out of Sephora after becoming frustrated with being lost and the lack of assistance from their staff.
I do ask for help and they always say they'll be back right away but I get forgotten, left standing there like an idiot for 30+ minutes.

And I still cant walk in high heels. I only wear them for the first 2 minutes then I conduct the remainder of my sessions Flintstones-style.

Send me a text next time I come to town & we can go together. If they keep us waiting more than 7 minutes, we find a manager, & tell them we are taking our money to a Shopper's Drugmart with a Beauty Boutique where we can get Optimum points!

My friend just got $330 worth of stuff on her Optimum points!

Sephora is a terrible place, the ladies at the Boutiques are a lot more knowledgable, not the young kids, but the ones who have been there for years.

Light bulbs have changed a lot over the years and it can be tricky to find the right one.
You are correct there GB. It used to be you just needed to know wattage but nowadays there can be more to it. As has been stated the Lumens is the amount of actual light output and Kelvin is colour but also affects brightness, and make sure you have dimming compatible bulbs if needed. All this information will be on the bulb packaging. For working areas (kitchen, office, shop) you’ll want around 5000 K which gives a bright white type of light and for relaxing areas such as dining area or bedroom go for the softer 2700 K bulbs (this goes for the ladies entertaining areas as well). If your doing anything artistic with colours then you’ll want to find ‘daytime’ bulbs which are a little more expensive but give off a similar spectrum as being outside. Otherwise your colours will look different inside vs with natural light.(the makeup area is one area in case any of the ladies were wondering why their makeup looks different in the mirror compared to outside). Also make sure you know the maximum wattage of your fixture and don’t install bulbs more than that as it will be a fire hazard. Now a days even the simplest of tasks require research.
