What the F%#K does "verified" mean on LL?

Is it me, or does it seems like many of the ads on LL with "verified" pictures still seem obviously fake or at least dubiously way too good to be true?

What exactly does "verified" mean... or the "Leolist" watermark... is this really any kind of hedge against someone with a bit of technical savvy posting fake pics?

I know various threads have gone around lamenting the high % of scams and/or B&S ads on LL, but what are the alternatives? Does anyone have any thoughts on a more reliable form of finding legitimate SPs or how to lobby Leolist to take a more responsible stance on how it vets its advertisers?

The SPs who advertise on PERB seem legit, but that's a small number and they are generally a bit more up-market; my M.O. has been to search on LL and then cross-reference on PERB for reviews... but many SPs don't get reviewed because there is this negative feedback loop making pooners wary of the risks of TOFFT because of the high percentage of fake ads.

How does one tap into a more reasonable price point without playing Russian Roulette?

I too wonder what "verified" means on LL. I don't really see how holding a scrap of paper with "Leolist" written on it makes a photo verifiable. Maybe LL takes some steps to ensure that the photo is for real, but I have no idea what those steps might be.

For my purposes, limiting my activities to women who have been reviewed on PERB works.

Unless verified means that a professional photographer working with LL goes in to verify himself and take those pictures himself it means fuck all to me.

I'm very dubious about any "steps" that Leolist takes as the site seems rife with fake and/or bait & switch operations. They have a captive market, for now, but this also seems like an opportunity for someone to set-up a better service... or perhaps for PERB to take the lead and upgrade & expand its advertiser section to fill the void for a more reliable service with a user-friendly interface and better search capabilities...?

Verified just means you've taken at least 5 photos with a sign that says "leolist" and they've had a look at them.
Very true. The misconception among clients is verified means legit. Leo list just cares about getting $ from ads which is proved by all the "verified" scams

In my experience, when I book a session with an SP that has "verified" pics on LL, the lady that answers the door is the lady in the pics.
This has been the case 100% of the time so far.
"Verified" doesn't mean that the service is good, or the SP has a good attitude, or that the session isn't a WOT/WOM.
It just means that the pictures are real and recent for the most part.
Also, not all pictures that have a "leolist" sign in them are verified.
I have seen some pictures of instagram models that have a "leolist" sign photo shopped into them.
Those pictures did not have the "verified" status attached to them by the site though.

In Your Wildest Dreams!
When Leolist started the Verified pics process, they set up "free" photoshoots with a top photographer. We got $100 in ad credits for making a booking with their photographer of choice & they gave away 100 shoots (or so they said) and those photos were watermarked by Leolist as "verified". Right now all it means is that whoever placed the ad uploaded pics featuring a girl holding up a sign. It is still not a guarantee that the girl holding the sign is the girl that meets you behind the door...

I heard they raised their prices the day backpage went down and then raised their prices again. Offering $100 towards buying OUR product seems slimy to me. They have a virtual monopoly and by raising their prices continually they will force a lot of ladies out on the street. I understand its capitalism but I get the impression LL doesn't give a sh*t its clients.

I have seen a lot of stolen Verfied pics being used in multiple cities when the lady only puts leolist and even just a first name .

Personally when I do Verfied pics for Leo’s I put my name and number also to provide further reassurance and not have my stolen

here's me on tryst
it's a platform run by and for workers :)
Thanks for the tip Clementine! PS: we haven't met but we may well soon ;-)
Tryst looks like an interesting site & I luv the search function! All the BC/Vancouver girls that came-up are also on LL and seem 100% real & down-to-earth... fine by me as I don't go for the Vegas Showgirl types... but if all us gullible pooners switch from LL to Tryst, how long before the scammers get wise & infiltrate? It's great that you say Tryst is "run by and for workers", but what it the vetting process? How does Tryst intend to keep it legit once the site gets busier, plus ensure photos are real AND up-to-date, etc.?

I look forward to meeting ;)

I don't work for them or know more details than what's on their site, but I know they're the same folks who started switter. I know they say in their FAQ section that after the beta version they will be implementing a verification system.

Just another way to take more money from these working ladies.

What needs to happen is competition for LL and cut this crap.
