Would you provide your Linkedin or Facebook as reference for booking?

I saw a SP post on Twitter that she loved the fact that a client provided a Linkedin in addition to two references in the booking email and she immediately said Yes!

Would you provide a Linkedin or another verified Social Media account?

well from the SP's perspective, she wishes all clients could provide Linkedin or another verified profile as it makes booking so much easier for her. You save time too and gets to the top of her priority list

NO!!!

Deposit, yes. references, sure. Real name? no problem. I do understand this lifestyle from BOTH sides. Ladies need to keep themselves safe so I completely understand why they won't take completely anonymous bookings. But there is such a thing as oversharing.

There is a line of privacy that I won't cross anymore. oversharing in the past led to me having to nuke and isolate myself from the civilian world back east. I recently received news of a death via Canada Post months after the fact because of the isolation I did to protect myself from certain idiots in this lifestyle. Or, shall I say, more of what I did to protect extended family.

Booking un-anonymously is one thing. But allowing a stranger access into your personal life is another thing altogether.

Anonymity is even more dangerous though. And it would only take the average person a university level introductory psychology class or two to learn why. Deindividuation scenarios are breeding ground for bad behaviour. But there also needs to be a balance, a limit, when trusting complete strangers with personal information.

I know of horrific cases of ladies being raped, assaulted, drugged, robbed by guys who booked them via fake app numbers. But I've also been around long enough to know of cases of blackmail that go the other way...

Both sides need to do what they can to protect themselves. Unregulated industries attract shady characters, it is what it is. .

If you do go that route, I suggest only trust reputable ladies with solid reputations who have been around for years who have earned that trust!

I don't have Facebook or LinkedIn.
Most of the men I know do not have it either.
But if i did sure i would share it, because it would have zero information and not a single comment to be found.

Do many guys actually use this stuff? I can't find statistics on the percentage of straight men who use such sites, but would guess it is very low. And even if they did have either, it likely does not matter because they never filled it in.
Having never used Facebook i assumed it was an old lady place, to discuss grandchildren and knitting. Maybe I'm completely wrong on this, so maybe someone has some true stats on how many men actually use it. Be it 2%, 3% or whatever.

If they won't accept references from reputable SP's it's a definite No.

Any educated professional is likely to have a LinkedIn account whether they are gay or not. Anyone who gets by doing odd jobs is unlikely to have an account.
Facebook is for old ladies to discuss grandkids and knitting.
In lieu of either account the lady may accept a copy of your resume with 3 references.

Just about every guy I know through work has a linked in account, not sure why you think sexuality has to do with this.

As for Facebook, about 39% of Canadian population are active daily users. Don't know what percentage of users are male, but my guess is far higher than 2-3%.

I'm living in the US right now, and post FOSTA the providers are very hesitant to see someone without lots of information. So yes I usually provide my LinkedIn page. I mean, if they have my real name, they can search for it anyways. Plus, I only see reputable independents, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.
That being said, once I get up to enough regulars / providers who will give a reference, I'm hoping to just use that.

No, absolutely not.

My LinkedIn and Facebook accounts don't even know about my Perb account.

No. Even posts on perb will catch up with you. Imagine if the SP blackmails you to a future fiance or something. Trust no one.

No Facebook
No Linkdin
No real name
No employer information
No deposits

None of this is needed, if you have good references.
It's not that difficult.
I moved back to BC about a year ago, and I have built up a solid list of references from quality independents and agencies.

Yes.
Then, asked to see THEIR ID.
Worked out fine.
Obviously this works only in very limited circumstances, and BOTH sides have to be thoroughly committed and equally horny.

I would only provide it to two or three of the SP members at PERB, that have a track record of honesty and other trustworthy virtues. Others I would not venture to give my real name to, or pay a deposit to secure a date. I have just been scammed too many times over the past five years to trust anyone outside of a small circle.
