I know there is a television show that has this name, but part of being human is minding your own business.

There are people in this world that go out of their way to cause harm to other people, all because they think they are doing good....

Ever watch a movie where a side character thinks they are acting in the best interest of the main character by either letting information out or doing something that harms the main character.

So maybe that is part of being human....

Empathy.....when you put yourself in another's shoes, and consider their situation..
This is being human.
Nice.

For me, it’s...

Vulnerability. Being able to confide in others your innermost frailties, and listening likewise without judgement. We live in a world of egos, yet the real human magic happens when we put those aside.

That! And a big fuking juicy steak, with full hedonistic cheesy re-stuffed potatoes, bold greek salad, and a kickass chateau lalala makes me feel very much human.

I think there're more than one meaning:

- being kind, having admirable traits

- being human, in all its ways, good and ugly. Humans commit crimes, start a war. We might hate it, but it's what some humans do. When I see criminal acts in the news, my initial reaction is probably like most people's - put off by it. If I think about what might cause them to do the things they do, then I can have some degree of understanding for them.

Unsettled with your own being and the concept behind what makes you human? Hell why not reach for the fucking stars and be a dinosaur, at least you'd be making better use of your time than pondering over these uncertainties on a fucking forum based around chasing hookers and rating them - check that one off my TDL. Not everyone of our disgusting species carry character aspects, its all anatomical for fucksakes! Even if you lack empathy or compassion or any trait likewise that doesn't make a person non-human.. Or could it?

Hisssssss ;)

human is being bad too,
bad people are still people, human

the theory is, we need bad or evil in life so we can appreciate the good.

Well take Mark Zuckerberg for instance; he has two legs, two arms, a head and a beating heart - probably the second best anatomy I've ever seen of the human structure... Yet he is non-human, he is Reptilian, and that is okay. With that fact given I don't perceive him as being any less of a person, generally speaking of course. To each their own. I've got two legs, better two than none.. Even if one were to have no legs, does that mean Lieutenant Dan is non-human?

Buddhism teaches that to be born human is be given the opportunity to attain self-awareness. Self-awareness--also known as enlightenment, Nirvana, or God-consciousness--is the ability to perceive oneself as being inextricably connected to everything in the universe, including everything in the past and future. Without self-awareness, we perceive ourselves as being separate from everything, and this separation causes fear and suffering--a "me against the world" type of mentality. Self-awareness, on the other hand, allows us to have compassion for all beings, as we see ourselves and our happiness as being connected to the well-being of all.
