It is typical antiquated backwards thinking that is indeed pushing the profession from the safety and security of cyber vetting back into the hands of waiting pimps.

This was ofcourse all done under the ridiculous notion of linking sex trafficking exclusively to prostitution with no distinction....The US is a religious country that allows it's faith to enter its politics---Sadly, Im not surprised.

USA should worry more about their schools shootings then this advertising for certain services , according to CNN statistics 288 shootings in USA since 09 , vs other countries where is almost nothing like 2, 3 maybe 4 or so not even close their ridiculous amount.

Every country, and, indeed, everyone, should have more important things to worry about than what two (or more) consenting adults want.

And the biggest hypocrisy, of course, is the President having fun with Stormy Daniels and many other women, even as he discourages others from doing the same thing.

In Canada it is supposedly legal to sell sex but you can't use established channels like Craigslist to do so? It is legal to sell sex but illegal to purchase? The politically correct crowd, have decided that anyone (i.e., usually men) who buys sex MUST be exploiting the provider (usually women). The idea of two people in bed, naked, enjoying themselves is upsetting to some people, if a few dollars change hands? I don't get it.

State of confusion
The new policy has actually helped me.

A local Service Provider had her website shut down and her domain name frozen, because she was using a U.S.-based site for escorts.

I helped her get a .CC domain and set up her new site on a host that is based in Australia, where prostitution is legal.

It's an ill wind that blows nobody good.

Religious women in the US are all over twitter praising Trump. God Bless Trump.

How did it happen?
A guy who cheats on his wives, makes creepy about his own daughter, and is basically a filthy pig, is a moral icon?
Totally accurate comment......but the US has a way of ripping apart their iconic figures....canabalizing their reputation , and waiting for the next victim to present themselves upon the pedestal, for eventual sacrifice.

Canadian Law

In Canada

It is illegal to receive sexual services for money.
"286.1 (1) Everyone who, in any place, obtains for consideration, or communicates with anyone for the purpose of obtaining for consideration, the sexual services of a person is guilty..."

It is also technically illegal to receive money for sexual services.
"286.2 (1) Everyone who receives a financial or other material benefit, knowing that it is obtained by or derived directly or indirectly from the commission of an offence under subsection286.1(1), is guilty..."

I say "technically" because there is an exemption for the service provider.
"286.5 (1) No person shall be prosecuted for (a) an offence under section 286.2 if the benefit is derived from the provision of their own sexual services..."

The bastard Conservatives told everyone they were not criminalizing sex workers. They were lieing. They criminalized sex workers first, then said they will not be prosecuted. There might be a difference. In addition of course, when you criminalize one party to a transaction (the client) you criminalize the transaction and both parties to the transaction so the "Not Criminalizing Sex Workers" line was a practical as well as a technical lie.

In practice, and when dealing with adults, some politically motivated police departments will arrest the clients of street workers but none have been ignorant enough to go after the clients of "off street" workers.
