Triple frontier was better then I expected, Ben Affleck didn't even have to get into character he was already going through a tough time.

Ooh both my boyfriends' movies have been mentioned on this page of the thread. Jason Momoa (yes Aquaman was terrible but it was very entertaining to watch while vaping weed in the theatre) and Charlie Hunnam is in Triple Frontier I can't wait to watch it.

Free Solo. Incredible documentary that's more exciting than most fictional movies.

Another great true survival adventure (but not a doc) is an older movie called Touching The Void (2003). The true story of two climbers up the west face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. Things go wrong - very wrong.

Woman at War:

Iceland as a backdrop to this charming film about an independent woman's battle against a steel corporation.
amazing soundtrack that was creatively interspersed between scenes and first rate cinematography and story.
it's a David vs Goliath theme for the modern time.

This Winter I saw a lot of the big ones that got Oscar nods and they were all pretty good. The film I liked the most was "Vice", the worst was "Mid 90's" & the most fun was "Overlord". Overlord cast Kurt Russell's son Wyatt and he had excellent presence I see him becoming a star. Also cast Nazi Zombies, bad-assed & charming SS Officers, a beautiful French Resistance fighter and hard core Allied Airbourne shock troopers, too much fun.

I rented "The Mule" and liked it.

Good plot, believable characters and the right amount of drama and intrigue.

I recently saw the new Pet Semetary. Despite some good performances from the cast, especially the young actress playing the daughter, I felt like most of the movie kind of fell flat. The filmmakers did play with audience expectations based on their knowledge of the source material whether from the original book or the 1989 film version by hinting at what you think is coming and then veering in a different direction. That was hit and miss for a couple of the moments. Unfortunately, one of the major twists in that regard was already spoiled by the trailer and some of the pre release clips. I won't spoil it here for anyone who may still be interested in the movie. The most effective part of the film for me was the slightly altered back story sub plot for Rachel, the wife. And Amy Seimetz' performance is particularly strong.

All in all not a bad movie but as bad as the 1989 version is, I still feel like it's more memorable than the current remake, for both it's effective moments as well as the laughably poor elements.

Just watched Cold Pursuit. Really good movie starring Liam Neeson. A remake of 2014 Norwegian movie called Kraftidioten that starred Stellan Skarsgård (a very good actor!) in the role that Neeson has in this movie. I have not had a chance yet to see the Norwegian version.

Mostly a cold blooded revenge movie, but there are some funny bits as well. Like where there is this gang of native Indians meeting in a large room and this one native guy tells this native chick to "clean up the body", referring to a dead body in the middle of the room. She says "I'm busy - have the fucking Indian do it" and points to the lone East Indian in the room. Fucking hilarious! I'm pretty sure that even my brown friends with half a sense of humour would find that funny.

Cut Bank

On Amazon Prime.

A good story with credible actors. One of those decent fly under the radar type movies.

saw John Wick Chapter 3.

Very high body count, extensive kung fu battles.Could've been done with less violence, seemed like overkill.
The ending all but screams "Chapter 4 is coming!"

I rented "The Mule" and liked it.

Good plot, believable characters and the right amount of drama and intrigue.

I watched Mule online recently simply because I am a big Clint Eastwood fan, both as an actor and even more as a director. I love how he paces his movies and the characters in hi movies are very well defined. I did not find this movie overly great or bad either. It was a nice movie and I enjoyed the Clint Eastwood factor. 2.5/5

Finally caught Bird Box on Netflix. Again, it didn't quite hit the mark. There is something missing in it. The movie seems to be going on an uneven pace. There was a time when I LOVED Sandra Bullock. But no offence, I am willing to call post plastic surgery Sandra Buttock. I didnt find it as bad as some critics have said but I did feel it could not quite reach its peak. Having said that, I enjoyed its cinematography. 2.5/5

I recently saw Endgame and John Wick 3 in the theaters. Both worth watching. Endgame is the best movie Ive seen so far this year.

Also watched The Do Over with Adam Sandler and David Spade and Always Be My Maybe both on Netflix. Worth checking out if you want some laughs. Just don't watch the last 3 mins of The Do Over or cover your eyes before the grandma walks to the pool. Don't say I didn't warn you :bolt:

Ronnie Coleman: The King

Niche film, certainly not for everyone. But if you know who he is, watch it.
He literally destroyed his own body because he pushed himself too far. Sad seeng him hobbling around on crutches.
The comments by his rivals were fascinating. I always hated Cutler but he wasn't such a bad guy after all.
Second vote for this.

I didn't know who he was, or anyone else in that milieu, but it is a solid doc.

I Am Mother

Caught it on Netflix. Post Apocalyptic Sci-fi thriller. It’s well acted and looks visually beautiful. Hillary Swank and Clara, the girl in it are good. It is quite smart but it kind of left me wanting more at the end. Recommended: Yes. 3 out of 5.

The Perfection (Netflix)

While browsing the LGBTQ category of Netflix, I came across this movie. Since the photo showed two girls in an intimate pose, I became curious, did some research, found the premise interesting and ended up watching it. It is borderline horror, suspense thriller. It is also very twisted. If you liked Get Out, which I highly recommend, you will love this movie. It is quite mind bending and it is also very well acted. It stars Allison Williams, who was also the lead girl in Get Out and a very sexy Logan Browning. I love it when they do things differently in movies and this one was very different. Recommended: yes. 3.5 out of 5 for me.

Warning: Disturbing images, sexuality, drug use, profanity, gory images, blood, slashing, blood splattering, vomit, pooing. Ok, I admit it is a sick movie. Check out the trailer before you watch.

Danish subtitled movie...basically one guy in a room, a policeman confined to desk duty for a serious infraction in which he has a court case the following day.... answering emergency service calls....but its great and worth watching. New on Netflix. If you watch it watch with subtitles not dubbing.
