But how can you tell if a number is a texting app?

    Thank you. I appreciate it

Also, the iOS app Truecaller will tell you, if you search the number on there.

Mr. Dangerous Non-Client needs to realize that no good can come from attempted extortion, and that Karma can be a real bitch. LE will be interested because he threatened to harm. He may already be on their radar. It's unlikely that this is his first attempt. Keep your wits about you, ladies. Gentlemen, stay gentle.

This number in question is issued to Iristel which in turn shares/leases the number with certain text apps. The result is tracing these numbers is difficult. That is compounded if the guy using the text app uses a VPN or steals wireless from a coffee shop while sitting in car around the corner. Further..smart phones use MAC randomization. A MAC address is a string of numbers that identify a network card. On Smart Phones, when connecting to wireless, they are randomized. It means if you go to the mall and you connect to wireless it would register your MAC address. Every time you returned the wireless system would know it's you. Now, phones use MAC randomization (or virtual MAC's). So it's near impossible to tell

The result? Forensics on an app is difficult to impossible. To quote my SO, a well known member of this forum "at least with a car date you can get a license plate number". With an app you can't do that. And, I speak from experience when I say you're fooling yourself imaging police services have the capacity and budget to do deep digital forensics. FBI? Sure. CSEC? Sure. CSIS? Sure. A police force? Not so much.

Just say no to Text Apps. They're a bad addition to the sex trade.
Your correct with what you have stated , I was really referring too if he's not that tech savvy and is using his home computer and can track the IP address....

Thank you all for your feedback.
Due to the nature of the threats I felt the police needed to be informed as he stated I know where you are and if you don't have s.ex with me for free I'll post your addy and pictures all over town and don't forget I have your apt number....
I think all should be aware of this incident and ladies I recommend screening your clients..
I'm sure many are aware of the attempted rapes recently in the Gordon head area , which probably is unrelated but one never knows...
I'm frightened to enter my suite , I'm frightened to book calls as anyone can change a texting app number at anytime book the call and potentially harm any one of us...

I'm not into setting people up , but not such a bad idea...
I'm just going to be extremely careful , I've had great feedback on how to appropriately screen clients and have had support from other ladies on this board , and agreed to watch out for one another...

Anyone who attempts to use PERB to extort a provider, either with a review or a threat of outing etc is going to get banned good and permanent like. Ladies, if you have proof of such an occurrence, please contact a mod or Mark Service. Any review that posts personal info like addresses or real names will be deleted as soon as it's found and the poster banned regardless of intent. I hope this is clear to all of the idiots/trolls and scumbags out there, do not try to use PERB as a weapon in your ridiculous endeavors.

Check your pm. Given that we are taking this behind the scenes so to speak, I am closing the thread. Ladies, if you want the contact info of this guy, contact the OP via PM.
