This guy is an idiot and got paid thousands of dollars while he was suspended. He deserves whatever is coming to him.

The police are more concerned about fentanyl than probably anything else at the moment. I doubt anything will change.

Victoria Police Chief has officially resigned. He has been known for tolerating the sex industry and refusing to enforce the federal anti-sex work laws. I'm afraid the new Police chief would crack down on agencies. Any thoughts?

"Crack down on agencies" for doing what? What happens in private establishments/residences between two consenting adults is tolerated. Vancouver has a similar attitude. LE is more concerned with SW's, drug dealers, pimps and underage providers. And the agencies in Victoria are all licensed. One SP told me she pays a yearly fee to work in this business.

The two previous chief's of police didn't do anything. I haven't heard anything since the laws changed either. They are mostly concerned with open or unlicensed providers, and have conducted a few "john stings" for Street workers. And will respond to complaints and reports of underage or human sex trafficing, and of course violence in any direction. They have bigger fish to fry than consenting adults in a licensed business in town.

That being said, Saanich and Westshore might be less lenient based on their bylaws and complaints received.

I heard that there used to be agencies in Saanich and Saanich Police Chief decided to shut them down. That's why those businesses moved to Victoria where Police Chief was more tolerant.

You have to read about federal laws regulating this business. They are in a gray area. Federal laws have nothing to do with bylaws.
