I never bargain. A woman's rate is her rate. Full stop.

But I see a regular whose rates have climbed over the years to what would be unaffordable levels for me. Except I still pay the old rate.

I keep telling her I feel like I'm cheating her, but she explained it's actually well worth it to her, because she felt secure in my presence, knows I show up on time, not high or drunk, I'm clean, never push boundaries and she likes talking to me afterwards.

Being respectful does have its rewards.

Some do grandfather rates, much for the reasons you have mentioned and I continue to visit them regularly. It seems to be a good experience for both of us and I do bring gifts to show my appreciation knowing she could make more per hour with a new guest.

Others I visit do have a defined industry exit plan and apply their new rates to everyone regardless if you've seen them a hundred times. I can't fault them because this is a business and personally I like their biz savvy with an exit plan.

One who hasn't advertised in four years emailed me recently to try to take off where we left off twice per month. I was happy to hear she wanted to see me again until she presented her new rates. Her 150% rate increase put her in the top rate echelon group that I visit on special occasions like my birthday or a huge commission cheque. Her reasoning was she only wanted to see a select few in her residence without any advertising or additional expense. I'm still pondering her offer.

Been approached by a similar offer before. I saw her once as a "welcome back", and not once again after that. I'm not sure what her angle is but I can't return to that frequent an interval at that rate. I hinted at it, and told her she's only for special occasions now. She seemed okay with it so I guess that's that. I actually feel guilty bringing it up to her. I've never negotiated a rate before, but I have stopped seeing regulars before because of a rate hike.

I pay her one hour rate, a few years ago, I was burdened financially, and had to drop down from a four hour supper date, to one hour,
that was all I could afford, after years of a long supper date, I couldn't afford it any more,
so I told her one hour,
but she wouldn't let me go, my hour was up, but she cracked open a bottle of wine,

so I pay her one hour rate, but stay, all day or a couple of hours, whatever, we know when the session is over.
we are silly with money, I have forgot to pay her, came back the next day, stayed all night, and still didn't pay her,
we even lost the money recently, fuck we both had a laugh at that loosing the donation.

money is not really important to either one of us at this point, im old everything is paid for still working but pension is filled out, she doesn't need the small sum I pay her,

I think I pay her just to keep the relationship business like, some sense of it any ways. though we have pretty much done away with any rules that clients and sp's have,

The idea of raising rates is so one can keep up with rising cost or make more money. I understand the motivation to reward long term clients by grandfathering the previous rate but this only works when there's a large turnover in customers. If the customer base is fairly static and there's little room for expansion, then this strategy doesn't work and you're no further ahead.

The reality is we live in an inflationary world. Everything goes up... rent, gas, hydro, food. So it stands to reason that the people we buy services from such as your dentist or your trainer also have their rate increases. Rates goes up because the cost of doing business is higher. Luckily, we're a capitalistic society. Value is determined by supply and demand. Thus the cost of goods and services are (somewhat) in check.

I think everyone would agree that this "hobby" is a luxury rather than an necessity. So I'm going to assume that in most cases, the purchasers (pooners) are in a more comfortable financially environment than the providers (SPs). So is it morally right to hold on to your wealth at the expense of someone who works for you? I equate this to the business owner who only made a million dollars this year as compared to two million the year before while telling his employees he can't afford to give them a raise because the company made less money. Meanwhile, with inflation, his employees has to make do with less as a result.

Don't get me wrong, I like a deal as much as the next guy. But we're dealing with real people here (and some very nice people I might add), not sacks of potatoes. So when a SP raise their rates, IMHO, we should honor that. After all, it's a free market and we do have choices.

Everybody's relationship with their SPs are different. I have a ton of respect for @sevenofnine for honoring the higher rate and volunteering to cut back his time rather than trying to negotiate a discount. If she chooses to give away her time, that's at her sole discretion.

From what I've been reading, some of you guys are such fantastic lovers your SPs would probably pay to see you guys back anyway. (no such luck for me). LOL

Not exactly. Some SP's raise their rates because they might want to see fewer clients. They raise their rates to a point that suits the desired income level they need with the fewest number of clients seen. The decsion to grandfather a rate is strictly the SP's decision. When I call, she could always make excuses to not be available, or hold firm to her rate, but she seems happy to see me.

Regular clientele are very valuable to any business, and it's no different than giving volume discounts, or preferred rates to loyal customers. There is also the saftey and trust factor that is of value in an SP's case.

If you had a job that involved the same pay if you handled caustic substances that burned your eyes and skin, or had a chance to handle cotton balls, wouldn't it be worth it to offer to charge less to handle cotton balls? In this example my cotton balls have premium.

Don't kid yourself. Most guys are respectful. She really wants you cause you're a stud! Pure and simple. I'm sure she read your post on "Being a Male Escort" as well. LOL.

Yup, that's what I have been told by my regular(s). Having said that, I hate using the term 'grandfather', makes me feel ....... old. I don't mind being called 'daddy', but grandfather is a bit too much. :) But on a serious note, I am paying less and getting great, reliable service so she can call me great grandfather if she wants. :)
