Clear vision, very unclear or outright lying on how to pay for it while keeping a balanced budget. While I do try to be impartial as a moderator here, BC politics is something I do have a hard time staying quiet about. I grew up in Saskatchewan in the 70s and 80s and saw the massive damage the NDP did to that province. I moved to BC in time for Mike Harcourt, Glen Clark, Moe Sihota and those turds and saw them wreck the BC economy. I saw the Liberals mismanage things, screw up the HST, put Christy the pinhead in charge and basically dawdle but not do any real damage. I am tired of her and her antics to be honest.
However, I am also seeing the NDP completely lie and concoct a financial platform that stinks about as much as the cow manure I spent too many summers growing up shoveling. There is no conceivable way that they will balance the books and do what they say they will. If they had the backbone of the Federal Libs and just admit they will run a deficit or two to invest in the province, I might actually give them a shot, as I do like some of their investment ideas.
But, since they choose to cover the truth up with a corporate tax increase and a re installment of the Libs short term tax surcharge on the top bracket and say those alone plus "growth" will pay the bills, they are either completely incompetent and too naive to govern, or they are lying on a massive scale. They are throwing just as much mud this time as the libs are and twisting the truth to the same degree, if not more. Horgan only won the leadership as the last man standing as they ate their young over the last defeat. He's not leadership material.
From coast to coast, every single time the NDP has gotten elected, they have left a far bigger mess than they inherited. They are fantastic in opposition, they simply cannot govern worth a shit. Ask anyone in Manitoba, where they finally got ousted, and ask the folks in Alberta how happy they are with Notley and her crew. I think the NDP will have a narrow win and when their economic policies wreck us again, we will be where they are in Alberta, regret city. One term in and then gone in four years or less but they can do a lot of damage in that time.
