Here's an excerpt from the WSG forums under "JayHawk Reports", from a doctor:

3. AIDS/STDs

There are several major Internet groups discussing risk of AIDS and other STDs so I have little to add here. I will simply say (I am an MD who does cancer research, so there is some wisdom behind this): (1) Always use a condom. If used properly, your risk of AIDS and other STDs is minimal. (2) If you do anal sex, be extra careful since this usually causes some minimal rectal bleeding in most women. Lots of lube is a must here. (3) Use a
condom for oral sex, although I have never seen a single report of a man contracting AIDS via oral sex (I have been told that there have been a few unconfirmed cases). There is a somewhat greater risk for women, especially if she has open sores (including herpes or cold sores) in her mouth. (4) If you have any cuts on your fingers, don't insert your fingers in her vagina or
anus. The primary route of transmission of AIDS is into blood. The reason so few men (some would say NO men) have contracted AIDS from prostitutes is because men don't provide easy access to the blood stream via their penis or fingers. If you have cuts on your fingers (or a penis that is sore from too
much fucking or beating off...this may be what happened to Magic Johnson who claims 15-20 partners a day!) you increase the odds astronomically. Remember though that there are two parties to every sex act. Your risk of AIDS from unprotected oral sex may be pretty low, but the woman's risk is much greater.
Show a little humanity and wear a condom. I have written a detailed review of HIV in sex workers from around the world and post it periodically to this group. Watch for it if you want all the technical/medical details.

...

E. Who Am I?

I am a white MD oncologist in my mid 40's living in the San Francisco Bay Area. After breaking up with a girlfriend in 1984, and going without sex for about 6 months, I began looking at streetwalkers and picked up my first one in early 1985. I moved on to massage parlors shortly thereafter. I have been happily married (except for a very limited sex life) for several years
so I take extreme precautions to remain anonymous and discreet. I now only have sex for money 3-4 times a year, and generally only when I travel. As you have probably noticed from these reviews, I have a particular preference for anal sex, and have included information wherever possible on the availability of anal pleasures in different cities.

actually, I am more inclined to think that it reflects his basic intelligence.

Whether Bush and the US Government are doing what should be done is almost immaterial next to how badly they have fucked up in going about doing it.

The damage to relationships with other countries by the hamhanded and shortsighted political tactics of the Bush administration is near immeasurable and will have long-term effects for the ability of the US to lead on the world stage.

So who will lead on the world stage?

Let me guess Canada right? All you need to know is your standard of living will continue to drop here in Canada in comparison to living in the United States. In 1970 our standard of living was equal to that of your neighbours to the south. Now it's at 70% and in the next 7 years will drop further to 60%. GO CANADA GO! The biggest mistake was Canada refusing to help rid the world of this sick dictator named Saddam. The US will continue to lead the world on all bases, while Canada will continue to pathetic levels. Did you ever ask yourself why Canada is no longer part of the G7? It's called being insignificant!

The Bush Administration is doing what needs to be done. You probably think they're doing it for oil right? Wrong, the US can get oil all over the world...THey're doing it for homeland security and hopefully peace in the mideast.

I thought it was Quebec's fault.

In 1970 our standard of living was equal to that of your neighbours to the south. Now it's at 70% and in the next 7 years will drop further to 60%.
In the early 70s the Montreal Expos actually demanded to be paid in Canadian browns and not US dollars. The mid-70s Canadian dollar was worth $1.06 American, instead of the current 67 cents American. But after Rene Levesque marshalled the separatists, then the Canadian dollar plummeted to 85 cents American, on global investment fears that a giant province would rip itself away from Canada. The Quebec separation dark cloud was the early killer of the Canadian brown buck, but since then it has been more a case of Canada's declining productivity relative to the U.S. It drove the Canadian dollar down a scary low of 59 to 60 cents American.

Economists will debate endlessly about "the" cause. Chicken or egg. But I believe it is declining productivity. This scares away foreign investment, declines corporate base, decreases tax base, increases relative interest rates, and just prods along the vicious economic slowdown cycle.
But a saving grace, eternally saving grace, is that Canada is blessed with comparative advantages (along with the U.S.) such as enough land, enough energy and mineral resources and food and water.
And competitive advantages such as stable government (we don't have assasinations), racial & religious harmony, well-educated population, clean environment, low crime, etc.

+++++++++++++++++++++++
Now if someone would only do something about lowering taxes.
:(

Somehow I don't think that the United States military dominance will last forever. Their debt to huge and sooner or later they'll have to pay for it. As for getting oil, if they keep pissing off the world there will be no one who'll sell it to them.

By the way Canada is the largest supplier of oil to the US not the arab world.

To thenextbigthing,

I'm not a doctor. I was quoting a doctor. Read more carefully next time.

As for anal, of the 11 steady girlfriends I've had in my life, 4 loved it and did it as regularly as regular sex, 1 did it once in awhile and liked it that way, and the other 6 did not like it. Their discomfort with it also had nothing to do with even how big mine is, it's how you go about it. So it seems your thoughts on anal are based on assumptions and your own prejudices. If you have had as much experience with it as I have over the last 15 years, you would know how to do it right and what the perception of the girl is with respect to it. You just don't know what you're talking about.

Hamster, you are on glue right? I think you should stick to subjects you are familiar with such as blisters on dicks as opposed to macroeconomics. Besides the war why do you think the CAD (that's the symbol for Canadian $$s in case you don't know) has gotten so strong recently? Could it be because of the Canadian budget vs. the recent US budget which is projected to go from record surplus to record deficit? I do have a vested interest in the value of the CAD vs. USD as my salary is in USD but I live here. I have seen my salary quite a bit in the last few months. Shoulda sold my USD forward but I guess you don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about. Stick to your area of expertise (STDs and strange blisters on your dick and leave the economic analysis to pros) thanks

BJLuver is no economist!

BJLuver your comments did nothing to shed light my way. I think you should focus on your career of running weed over the boarder and let the pros like myself worry about the world.

When the whole world is in an economic downturn, doesn't it make sense the biggest should fall the farthest? I guess you didn't think of that... But what's more important are the steps that country is willing (this is where you have to spend money for the future and take the losses now) to take to get themselves out of that vicious cycle.

Enough said!

yeah, the return to the long-discredited and derided world of supply-side economics, aka Reaganomics, aka voodoo economics.

With that policy once again being pursued by Republicans, it is going to be a VERY long time before the US is in the red again...

Hamster a Keynesian?

Warning (long macroeconomics post).

“Besides the war why do you think the CAD … has gotten so strong recently? Could it be because of the Canadian budget vs. the recent US budget which is projected to go from record surplus to record deficit?”

Yes it is very strange times in the world of global finance. Usually when people run FROM the U.S. dollar they do not run TO the Canadian dollar. Did Canadian productivity magically increase the last 3 years?
Misleading question.

Canada did not develop the massive overcapacity hang that blessed and now curses the US. Canada doesn’t have a WorldCON (intentionally mispelled), Sprint, AT&T. Or 7 baby-bells underpricing each other for wireless.

Vancouver does have a 360 networks, but the US has even more unlit fibre, there are plenty of Global Crossings. Heck Canada doesn’t have 7 national airline carriers. Canada let Canada3000 go bankrupt with not so much as a peep, the American carriers go down kicking and screaming and begging and bailing.

Vancouver hasn’t even seen LOWE’s clobber HD (Home Depot not Hipster Doofus) yet. What’s going to happen when Kohl’s, Sam’s Clubs, BJ Wholesale, and Albertson, AHold (spelled AssHole) try to invade Canada? Canadians only panic when Costco shows up, wait till the rest of the big boys show up.

A very puzzling time for investors – but not for those mathematically inclined enough to understand technical anaylsis trading!

“ Shoulda sold my USD forward but I guess you don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about.”

What’s that supposed to mean?
What if Hamster is playing possum and traded currencies in Singapore in the mid-90s?
He could have been Chief of Derivatives for Goldman Sachs. (Stop snickering, cut it out).

Yes, there are financial advantages if we mongers understand global finance. As fixed income returns erode, we have to be able to afford the rising prices of these inflationary SPs. Some have pricing power, raising their rates the way Starbucks and the Canucks raise their prices.

What if Hamster is a Keynesian and not a supply-sider?
He’s not Joe Smith, he’s Adam Smith. :(
