THis isn't a pooning post, but the Hamster just had to say he couldn't be more proud of the US and Co. forces! Progress so far has been excellent and it won't be long before that piece of shit Saddam is dead!

There is justice in this world!

Unfortunately, Canada is beyond wimpy and embarrassing which is too be expected considering our moronic leader.

These people who protest need to give their heads a shake! THis war is for a better future for everyone:

1. To liberate the Iraqi people from a saddistic dictator who participates in rape, murder and torture of his own people.

2. To help fight the war on Terror. It is highly likely that Iraq has biological weapons and under Saddam's rule, this poses a threat to the livelihood of the American people and it's allies (this includes Canada) since he could easily sell/distribute them to Terrorist.

All it takes is some asshole terrorist to get on a plane with 30 ml of Antrax or Small pox, and release it on the plane or when he gets off. Thousands will be contaminated in days...

GO US and Co. GO!!!!!!!!!

While I agree that Saddam must be stopped, I don't agree with Bush's invasion tactics (As I recall, a certain German dictator deflected attention from his countries poor economics and turned it into a war machine)...which runs contrary to UN approval.

It sets up a dangerous precedent, whether warranted or not.

Don't like someone? Claim they support terrorsits and invade them...pre emptive. Deny any declarations of innocence by them and wipe them out. Tell them they have to prove that they aren't supporting terrorists or hiding WMP...which is impossible if they aren't (not to say Iraq isn't...Saddam is a lying POS.)

I can think of at least 4 countries that could act in such a manner at the moment, now that the US has "made ignoring UN sacntion OK".

This isn't to say the UN doesn't need revamping and that in it's current form it's inneficient to say the least...only that short cutting due process can lead to unforseen results. Those results can have tragic repercussions.

One final thing... is it such a great thing that US and British bombs will kill more Iraqi civilians than anything else? Or what the lives of the innocent people who have no control over what Saddam and his military does... the people that hear the over head planes, feel the ground as the bombs strike & pray that they aren't the next targets? The ones who's lives will forever be altered if it comes to urban warfare?

An American humourist wrote a letter to Bush (via media) and asked him if he'd be willing to send his 2 daughters over into Iraq. If he was not willing to support the war thusly, why did he think American's with children in the military would want to support such a war? Also, he pointed out that only 1 senator had a child in the military...and thus, was the only one with a vested interest in the fate of those sent over.

I guess, as long as you're paid well and don't pull the trigger or get dirty, war is a pleasant and beneficial thing.

No offense Hamster .... but you have just proven the inability to think for yourself. Your post sounds just like all the crap on CNN.

Yes, Saddam is a prick ... but so are many other world leaders ... is the US planning on removing them all from power ? That is a huge fear of many.

If IRAQ is such a threat to the west .... where's the proof ? If Bush could have proven his claims, I'm sure the UN result would have been much different. Personally I would probably have a different opinion if I believed there was a threat.

Without the proof ... you can only guess that there is other objectives.

I think when the true objectives of the US come to reality .... many opinions will change as well.

I'm totally against the war plain and simple. Who do you think will suffer from this war? ofcourse the poor and innocent people of Iraq. They were tortured by Saddam and now they're being killed by the US. I know Saddam is a mean and such a dictator but there's other way to solve this other than war. Make love not war!!!

Some of my thoughts

Hammy, it's too bad you didn't think to start this thread in the Lounge, but since I'm posting in here too, I guess I'm not too hung up on it, right?

Considering that a member of the Bush family put Hussein in power, I think the Bush family considers it their responsibility to clean up the mess that was created by doing so. Why George Sr. stopped short of cleaning it up completely in Desert Storm is beyond me. It remains to be seen if Junior has the guts to go all the way this time. If he does then we could see something positive out of this - if he doesn't then we'll be doing it all over again another ten years from now.

I think that Junior made it clear from the beginning that he was going in. He spent the last six months trying to use official legal channels to get world accord and input, but now he's doing what he said he would do.

I think this is a bit of a Boy Scout Jamboree as opposed to a war. Iraq didn't have very much of a war machine before Desert Storm, what they had was destroyed by Desert Storm, and they have been under military and trade sanctions ever since. So unless "weapons of mass destruction" can be tied to rocks and thrown at people, I don't think we will see too many of them used against western troops (unless of course, some of those good ole boys in Texas, France, Germany, China and Israel have been selling them to Iraq and sneaking them in!).

Plenty of Iraqi people are going to get killed by the whizz-bangs. I hope it proceeds quickly and is over with soon.

I hope that not too many farm boys from Kansas get run over by tanks and killed in helicopter crashes.

I think Canada is doing a good job by keeping ther troops in the Gulf Region for the "War on Terrorism" but that this invasion is a different matter entirely. I also think that our armed forces are now too small to be able to withstand the number of "friendly fire" casualties that we would suffer from the Americans if we were joining them in Iraq. Those four guys in Afghanistan were enough! No doubt we will be called upon to pick up the pieces when the shooting is over.

Don't listen to the stupid f*****g media types and their bleating about the "looming environmental catastrophe" of the oil well fires. After Desert Storm, they and their environmentalist panic mongerer buddies were predicting a 100 year disaster that would doom all life on the planet etc. Well, a bunch of roughnecks from Alberta went in there and cleaned the situation up in record time!

Let's see if Junior really does liberate the Iraqi people by setting up health centres, schools, water purification plants etc. or if he's just there to put on the fireworks.

This is not the right forum to discuss this.. but I can resist but write something...

Saddam has committed a lot of crimes against his own people and against the people in the region. But Bush administration has put this world on a path to distructions.
We North Americans are quite ignorant of what is happening in the world.. Sep 11 has changes this but still we rely on our news media for our information. Remember this media is NOT independent.. they show you what they want to show you.. this is all the rating game…….. who can bring the most sensational story on news.. This war will further divide the poor nations and the west. This operation is NOT for Iraqi freedom.. there are more burning issues in this world then Saddam Hussain who is already contained.. has US jets flying over half their country who freely bomb whatever they think is a threat to them. The only result of this was will be HATE and we all know what is the result of this hate.. I am glad that Canada didn’t took part in this. US tried to bully all poor countries to vote for their motion but they could not….. UN has become a joke really.. I would not have agreed to this war even if they had UN authorization.. American choose to be the cop where it has some interest.. What about the Israel/Palestine issue.. the main reason for all the problems in middle east.. What about India Pakistan.. two nuclear nations with millions on their borders.. What about North Korea… threatening to start their Nuclear plants.. Iraq was already contained.. Many of us favouring a war have probably never seen a war.. We don’t know the pain when one of your own is refered to as Colateral damage in 6’o clock news.. We have not seen the devastation that a war brings. We have not seen kids hiding in bunkers with their moms..asking them why they cant sleep in the bed.

Please see follwing links if you are intersted in alternative media.. reporting things that are never shown on our TV sets.. Many of it may be conspiracy theroeies.. but some of it is true too…

Hamster a marine?

Sodamn Insane hasn't blown his own oil wells yet.
Very mysterious, almost makes you wonder if he has lost a lot of control.
The American troops have equipment that could enable them to survive a "limited" biological / chemical weapon.
But the American economy couldn't survive an oil shock of $50 / barrel oil from Iraq blowing its own oil wells.
Actually with $50 barrel oil, the Japan and Germany economies would move from teetering on recession to full blown recession, and then they would drag the American economy down even more.

=============================
Hamster a marine? Is he in shape? I thought that he only exercises one part of the Hamster body.

normally i dont respond to political b.s. cause it really doesnt matter in the end, but thought that i would put my 2 cents in.

I get tired of every anti bushie saying that he could have done more diplomatically before he went to war, however they of course dont offer any suggestions on what he could have done differently for a more positive outcome. But these are some of the facts

1. With the inspections after gulf war 1 they only reason they found what they found was because saddams son-in-law defected and blew the whistle.(then the stupid twit is talked into comming home and saddam has him killed)

2.The only reson saddam gave up what he did before the war was b/c of the u.s. military presence in the region.

3. the frogs werent going to let bush do anything anyways.

4. as far as the terriost are concerned and there not being any proof an old adage is the enemy of my enemy is my friend and there not going to advertise any meeting between iraqis and bin laden.

5. there is a connection between iraq and the first wtc bombing

well that is my 2 cents worth and there is definately more but to much thought went into this and all i want is to get laid.

I agree with your assesment that china and north korea pose a more worrisome threat but as far as the rest of the countries, you have the french trying to hide there real involvement with Irag, the germans who are just the lap dogs of the french, the russians trying to collect the billions that saddam owes them(good luck on that) china just hates the u.s and the turks were trying to hold us up for more money.

Corrupt but not stupid.

George Bush said "in order to change China, we first need a relationship (economic) with China." And in just a few quick years China has dramatically become dependent on economic trade with the capitalist devils. Its unlikely China will jeopardize that trade as its banking system is on the verge of collapse.

China is corrupt but not stupid.

On the other hand, North Korea
1) has no relationship with the U.S., or practically anyone else.
2) North Korea is stupid.

North Korea made its people eat grass, but they've got a nuke! Maybe a few! Dictators of the world, take notes at the difference in treatment.

If only Sodamn Insane had a nuke! He'd still have a country! Wasting all his money on palaces and this and that. In 20 years (since that Israeli strike), he could have/should have built a nuke (or bought a Russian nuke) and paid for it with all his oil money.
Aaaahhhh, Sodamn is probably dead, buried under those 36 tomahawks, and 2 bunker busters. Wow, about Usd $100 million in ordinance just for his bunker palace. A bargain.

Yes, the turks are embarassing aren't they. They were supposed to be the models of Muslim democracy weren't they? Aren't the Americans planning to rebuild Iraq to be another model of middle east democracy?

You know what's really bugging me about all the debate over the war is all the people who come for with claims like "okay here are some facts: X, Y, Z", and then don't give any sort of backing up to those facts. And then in the rare cases when citing of sources is given, those sources are questionable at best, or very one-sided.

It's easy to prove the war is justified, or that Bush is a lunatic if you are able to make the "facts" fit your views.
