I wonder why some SPs choose to show and reveal their faces on their ads. Aren't they concerned that they may be recognized in public or a general safety concern (i.e. stalkers)?

I've seen some SPs in public who I haven't gone to see, but do recognize them from their ads. I wouldn't say "hi! Hey I know you!" as I'm sure that's uncouth, but what happens if an SP's acquaintance from some other walk of life, who may or may not be a pooner, discovers that they are in this business?

just wondering

I honestly could careless.. it's my life, my choice and my body. I am happy and content with what I do, I am not ashamed of it.
If acquaintances/friends want to be "judgmental" and think it's "wrong" what I do, that is their own issue, not mine (If they ever found out)
I have friends that know what I do, they are supportive and don't judge.
I think showing your face in pictures gives guys more satisfaction that they know exactly who they are going to see.
As for the safety concern stalkers etc.. Every girl should be worried about that, not just SP's.
So what if a girl shows her face in ads, what's the difference between that and some girl that has an open Facebook profile? She should be concerned about stalkers too. I understand that in this industry you have to be a little bit more cautious cause there are some crazies out there. But if anything ever arises out of it, you always have the ability to contact the authorities if something like that ever happens. :)

That's just my honest opinion.

Good for you... life is to be lived and as long as you are cool with what you do that's what counts. Your face is an asset BTW :)

Perhaps one important consideration would be if the young lady foresaw herself having any public career goals for her future. Eg. a realtor, with her face on her cards and her website, might have a harder time, if she'd been a local SP in recent years.

But it seems that, here in Vancouver (based on reputable advertisers who have long histories here), ladies can plan to enjoy this career throughout their 20's, 30's, and well into their 40's and beyond. And, if they're saving their money, could have many options for business ownership beyond that!

We have a family friend who was an SP in her 20's, that we discovered by accident. (Her cell phone broke, so she gave us her 'business' phone number to get a hold of her.) Needed to pay her way through college. Did NOT bring it up. Checked out her ads, was not a member of PERB.
She's now into her mid 30's, out of the industry and has a mainstream job.

She was/is a stunning looking woman, and had I not known her personally, (friend of the wife), I would have definitely pursued an arrangement to help with her bills.

An inspiring attitude

I've nothing but the greatest admiration for SPs like NataliaBijoux who defy outdated stigma and proudly show their face in ads.

If I were an SP, would I have enough courage to show my face? I sure hope so.

But what if this provoked a hostile reaction from family members? Or my daytime job would be at risk? Or a possible future career in management or politics would be undermined? There can be a painful price to pay.

Quite a while ago now, I was motivated to see Holly Taylor who has always demonstrated amazing courage in this regard.

It's women like her—or my other hero Sasha Grey—who're real trailblazers and game changers that help smash obsolete social taboos around sex and sex work.

It's such taboos which seem to me partly responsible for needless shame (or even suicidal humiliation) some young women feel about being labelled "sluts." But fortunately, some women like Holly Taylor and Sasha Grey—and Natalie Bijoux—have the inner strength to hold their heads high in the face of such labelling.

But there're now millions of sexy pictures and videos of girl-next-door types on the Internet, often engaging in steamy action. Yet media attention or other negative repercussions for the women involved have, apparently, become a relative rarity (though a few humiliated-feeling young women have committed suicide).

I think SPs who show their face in ads help spearhead the kind of sex-positive social change that strikes me as wholly desirable.

Interesting.

I commend Miss Natalie Bijoux for doing what she wants in life with comfort and control. She looks striking with those eyes in the top photo indeed.

I do believe there could be some problems arising when crossing the US border due to their facial recognition system and different laws down south. As well, would not SPs with face photos be concerned that they may be passed over from a public career they may want in the future?

Sounds like you`re charting an idea of 21st Century Sexual Liberation vs. 21st Century Internet Safety and Privacy Concerns. Also, I think mimi, thebuttdance, unpossible, and ms sarah have a good point to where you`re coming from ("a wolf in sheep`s clothing"?)

For some sp's its not about them.

I mean they hide there face, because they have friends family kids, (especially kids I would imagine a women would want to protect her children from school hood issues etc) and the man there involved if there is one.
As a guy who is a friend with an sp or two, and has gone out socially with an sp from time to time. Its not like you don't know what they do it is a topic of conversation from time to time, but you don't need it thrown in your face and to be assualted with it and Im just a friend, if you are had like a serious lover or romantic interest out of kindness to him I would think you would keep a low profile.

I think this is a very good point. Social stigma affects others, not just the SP.

And Natalia, you are beautiful.

When you find them showing their faces AND listing an incall address right across the street from their high schools, then you should take note of such an instance. Until then, assume they are a province or two from 'home'.

Some SP have day jobs and I'm sure they want to avoid the awkwardness that might arise if they were exposed. Same thing for some strippers, I'm pretty sure some tell friends/family their job is at a restaurant/spa etc.
