...and I always thought it was the lack of universal pharmacare.

http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/04/10/disabled-man-wants-legalized-sex-assistants

This guy could be the poster boy for legalizing the trade in Canada for everybody (why should the able-bodied be discriminated against? Let everyone be entitled to "sex assistant" services)

Next stop: it becomes an insured service covered by Medicare: "doc, doc, I've got this painful swelling in my crotch that keeps me from standing up to work. I hear there's a new health program to treat this terrible disability...."

I see many disabled and pensioners and I think our services should be covered under medical in some circumstances or partial.
by the way I clicked your link but it did not work for me. I am a big advocate for disabilities and mental heath as well as there right to sexual desires.

As most know already.
I agree that PRIVATE health care plans should pay for sp services. I disagree that PUBLICLY funded health care should pay sp services. I am already being fucked with the amount of tax I pay and the last thing I want to see is my tax dollars being used for even more fucking:)

The link doesn't work? Hmmm, It works for me. Maybe there's a paywall between the Winnipeg Sun and out of province, but all of Sun Media's Canadian sites are accessible to me.

Good for you, cuteangie. It's a neglected area. In the article some professor says providing formal sexual services to the disabled is not the answer; public education about sexual needs of the disabled is all that's required. Poor guy is another soul lost in the ivory tower who is firmly out-of-touch with reality.

I believe in Denmark the state gives the disabled a certain number of vouchers a month towards sexual services.

I suppose a private insurance plan could be developed as a disability benefit for people under age 65. Maybe Worker's Comp too.

Yeah, I hear you. It's enough that the government robs us, now they would be cuckolding us too. The bureaucrat would say to the disabled man: "I took all this money from kickback so you could get laid; let kickback jerk off this month"
