Hi all, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for where to buy some decent work clothes in Edmonton, like suits, ties, dress shirts and dress pants? Something that looks nice but doesn't break the bank. As long as I can go into a corporate setting and not have my clothes stand out in a bad way, I'm good. Thanks!

Here's a hidden gem in Edmonton: Dress To Suit. It's a men's clothing store that sells both consignment and new. It is located on Jasper Ave and about 121 Street.

Otherwise, if Henry Singer is too pricey then there's always The Bay or Moores.

I think Moore's is okay but the quality matches the price. I think also if you shop the sales at the better men's stores and if you shop carefully you can get a decent suit at a reasonable price. Especially if you get medium weight that you can wear most of the year.

I will have to check this out. Another sharp dressed guy I know also had nothing but good things to say about this store with respect to quality, prices and VFM.

I live nearby and I'm guessing they have been around for about four years. And yet they don't seem to be on anybody's radar.

Just remember a suit is only as good as it's fit. I like my Boss suits and Hate Armani. Why? because the cut doesn't suit me. At the end of the day, you can go to Tip Top and see a sales guys and make sure you get it fitted. A fitted cheap suit is much better than a loose expensive suit.

Talk to the tailors and see what you think looks good on you and what kind of cut you want. Oh and don't sheap out on the shoes either... nice suit + bad shoes = all sizzle no steak

I agree that proper fit goes a long way. A mid-range suit well fitted can be very impressive. Don't cheap on the shoes!
You can always try e-bay. Then take what you get to a good tailor. Stick with traditional business colours and watch for European vs. US sizing standards.

Over 2 hands plus a mouthful big
watch for European vs. US sizing standards.
European suit size -------> North American suit size

46 European -------> 36 North American

48 European -------> 38 North American

50 European -------> 40 North American

52 European -------> 42 North American

54 European -------> 44 North American

56 European -------> 46 North American

58 European -------> 48 North American
Hmmm seems to me that there are only 2 sizes where the European number and the North American number (in standard not big and tall) crosses over from one to another. So if you are a size 46 or 48 North American and pick up a European size 46 (which is actually a North American 36) the fact that you split the arm in half if you even managed to slide it in there would be your first clue that you had the wrong suit.:rolleyes:

One would think so, Jim, but most men--especially the younger men these days with their baseball caps and sweatshirts--still wouldn't have a clue.
Yes unfortunately this is definitely a town full of hicks with baseball caps (worn backwards or to the side) wearing wife beater shirts who drive trucks which are compensation for their tiny dicks. :cool:

If I owned a restaurant and some loser came in with a ball cap on his head and left it on at the table I'd remove it. With a baseball bat. :mad:

I need to chime in on this fellas ...as a lady who gets covered in goose bumps at the sight of a man in a well fit, high quality suit. Honestly, it's my biggest fatal attraction. I used to work as a high profile admin in a large corporation downtown office building. Believe it or not I used to need to take more changes of panties with me to that job than to this one (sort of kidding).

There is no bigger wetting factor to me than a man who looks oh so confident in a business suit. I have tomorrow off and suddenly feel a need to run downtown and see 'what's up'
....me thinks me should take a sachet full of dry panties. Sigh.

Sperminator I agree 100% and have been fortunate to date a number of men with exquisite taste in formal business attire.

The process of seducing a man in a fine business suit differs greatly than seducing a man wearing anything else. The entire experience is a hot mindfuck if you ask me.

It makes me melt just closing my eyes and imagining myself touching the material, both hands gently caressing the lapel as if it were able to reciprocate. Running my finger tips from his cheek to his shoulder down the length of his arm to find his strong hand extending from a perfectly tailored sleeve. (shivers and moans) Taking his big strong hand in both of mine, looking up at him wantingly I gently move his fingers towards my lips which are glistening with shine and hungry for the taste of a well manicured finger. As he proceeds to allow me the privilege of sucking his finger gently, I notice that the fine fabric which covers him is beginning to show clear indication of his arousal. Now the real treat. I get to undress him ...loosening his tie with gentle motion and lifting it over his, of course, perfectly kept salt and pepper hair and slip the tie over my head, around my neck, snugging it just a bit. Then starting with the top button of his shirt, my tiny fingers struggle just enough to make me wish I could simply tear the shirt open, but I am patient and I tend to his clothing as he would, carefully and respectfully.

Oh Sperminator I am going to have wonderful dreams

As I said, the process of seducing a man in a business suit is a real treat. ... We all have our little (or big) kinks and I am a weak in the knees lady when it comes to gents high end formal business fashion.

Yes ...well I looked at this thread ..over and over and over and have finally come out of the zone of pleasure it put me into. Thanks Sperminator, I lost an entire day but it was so worth it.
Jessica P. Rabbit ...

I think I`ll be making a trip to Henry Singer and Harry Rosen on my next day off ...anybody want anything while I`m there before I get kicked out for drooling on the high end merch?

Yes Sperminator it was the most important day of my life. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it.
And I must confess; I laughed my BunnyButt off out loud when I saw your reply just now. Thank you.
Jessica

That was the most important day of your life. And you know it.
