The best hotel in Calgary is the Sheraton Au Claire - it's downtown and each room is a suite. The Westin and Hyatt are nice. The Fairmount is okay but as with a lot of the Fairmount hotels the rooms are not so great.

Lower on the scale are the Delta and the International. Can't comment on the hotels outside of the downtown core.

As for the key card issue, when i stayed at the Sheraton, Westin, Hyatt and Fairmount you did not need a room key to have access to the elevator but then again it may have changed ... the elevators at the Westin and Sheraton do have slots for key cards so i guess those locations could easily enforce key cards.

Best to book soon since you can always cancel the same day before 4:00 if you book directly with the hotel. I have found that Calgary books up really fast these days and the last few times i've been there for business the room costs were outrages - $250+ / night.

I second the Sheraton Eau Claire. Great hotel, and close to dinner, drinks,
and entertainment when you decide to take some time off for yourself. It's my favorite Calgary hotel.
As well, Sheraton beds are just the most comfy beds. :D:D:D

I checked out the sheraton website, and I am not looking in spending that much the rooms were 300-400 for a bed. I need a two room suite for couple hundred or less a night, since I will be staying a week. Any suggestions?

For what you are looking for and price the Holiday Inn on 8th and 10th is you're best bet, they have suites with fireplaces as well jet tubs...the other place where a lot of the girls go is 5th on 5th, not as clean but not a bad location in the downtown area. Hope this helps.

A 4☆ hotel in Calgary for under $250 - $300... May the force be with you!
You would have a better change of banging Jessica Alba in the ass with a strap-on and no lube on the 50 yard line of McMahon Stadium for $50.00.... You might find a 3☆ for $250 - $300... The rates won't drop until the beginning of October.

In my house
I stayed at this place once about a year ago. They didn't have keycards.
I would say it is more 3-4 star. It seems like it used to be an apartment building that was then converted into a "hotel". Hope it works out for you.

Agree with Annalise, wrong people find out, hotel finds out they get suspicious you do not have a great stay. People keep this in PM. More than one lady has had to look for a new hotel as result of this being too public

Angel - it's REALLY important to NOT give information on where you might be staying to the masses - one never knows who's reading these forums.
