Did anybody ever had this procedure done?
Is it effective and worth the money?

I didnt notice a major difference maybe cause i take good care of my teeth with flossing, brushing, and mouthwash. I agree smokers & coffee drinkers probably notice more of a difference.

if the stain comes from things you do ie coffee, tea, smoking then the whiteners won't do anything for you. As you try to whiten them you then try to darken them with the habits you have. If the stain is inside the teeth hen you can do something about it. Most products have some type of peroxide in them (active ingredient). If not it may have Titanium Dioxide....white paint!! It really doesn't matter which method you do you will only whiten as much as your teeth will allow. So the $600 laser whitening is no better hen the $50 Crest whitestrips. Ask about the concentrations of the products used in the Dental offices. Some use products with 33% (industrial strength) hydrogen Peroxide. Get that on your skin and see what kind of damage it will do let alone what it does to the teeth!!

I have a very good, honest Dentist - I asked him about teeth whitening and he told me this:

" Some people (me included) have naturally thin teeth...whitening can cause the teeth to look transparent, giving them a blueish tint...your teeth could look worse after they are whitened"

TOFTT - cosmetic teeth whitening

I did it here in Vancouver: Cosmetic Teeth Whitening - 5-14 Shades in 1 Hour - $219 (922 W. Broadway)

I called the lady and asked about her service asking questions about the zoom technology and other players in the market. The lady invited me to google "zoom teeth whitening pain". There are many reports of people feeling lot of pain with the zoom technique.

I set the appointment and arrived on time.
She received me wearing a long white shirt and a very professional look.
She made me sit on her chair and proceeded to explain all the things that she would have done to me.
She gave me a cheek retractor that I had to insert in my mouth, then she handed a couple of tampons to be inserted in the mouth to prevent salivation.
Then she handed me a brush which had previously been dip in a gel and, holding a mirror so that I could see my teeth, she invited me to brush my teeth uniformly.

The thing, she explained, is that she can't touch the client otherwise it would be considered a dental practice and it would need to be done in a dentist office, at a much higher price.

I wasn't sure how to do it, but she guided me to do it properly and thoroughly.
After the "painting" was done, she asked me to wear a special type of glasses and positioned a ultraviolet light in front of my mouth.
The light is supposed to activate the gel.
The sessions lasts 20 minutes and it is repeated 3 times for best performance.

The technique that she used was effective and without pain or discomfort.
L=6 (a pleasant lady in her 30s)
A=8 (she is friendly and very professional)
S=9 (I had exactly what I was looking for)

Damage: $$.2

Repeat: I will, 2 years from now

:D

I went to a dental office at Metrotown a few months ago. I went 2 shades whiter. But the results started to fade within the first 3 months, they recommended getting it done once a year. Or take home a touch up kit when you start to see it fade. I paid around $600 in total for the laser whitening since I do not have medical. The cleaning before costed $300 alone! And as for sensitivity I had very bad cold pains in my teeth for 2 days following.

I know my dad dabs his toothbrush in hydrogen Peroxide and then in baking soda, and brushes his teeth like that to whiten them! But I don't know how good that is for your teeth!
