I have a female friend who has found her pics(2) on another site from her facebook profile. It's a dating site. Her pics are not copyrighted and I had read somewhere that Items pasted on Facebook become their property and domain anyhow.Any truth to that?

..I've told her to contact the site and have them taken down but beyond that not sure if she has any legal recourse. This person is not pretending to be her just using her pic.Any information would be helpful.

If this does not work could she not file some type of legal action?(They are bikini pics and she does want them down off the site they are on). They're not trademarked which i think is her biggest hurdle, but would this not be a type of fraud or identity theft?

Facebook's Terms of Service says that, by uploading any pictures to their site, you give them exclusive rights to use the pictures commercially. Many other sites have similar TOS. If you want to share photos over the internet, either host them on your own domain or use an actual photo sharing site. Most photo sharing sites leave the rights to photos to the individual who uploads them..
