I'm looking for a place where a guy can get a decent haircut in Edmonton. The places I go to are really quick to pull out the chainsaw razor and chop your hair off in 2 minutes or less like your going off to war in 10. They never listen to what you want because your a guy and it doesn't matter and do there own thing. I hate it and always walk out feeling like a stupid looking dog walking out of a groomer.

any suggestions as to where I might be able to go?

Edmonton Area
I can't give you a specific, because I live in the outlying area and get my hair cut local. But all I ever do whenever I move is just find a really nice salon, and I get my hair cut there. Find a stylist and stay with her. You will be happier, you will pay more, but you will come out with a a good haircut every time.

Still looking for a place to get a decent haircut in Edmonton

Still looking for a place to get a decent haircut in Edmonton, was going to the boardroom for 1/2 a year but I'm not happy with them anymore. Heard bad things about Icon too. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Maybe I could get Kittie to cut my hair?

I've had the same problem. My last cut was so bad , I demanded to see the manager , showed her the proof and she shaped in herself.I've made a personal vow to myself that the next time I go for a cut and A).She's yakking with her neighbor b).Answering her personal cell C).Not listening to my direction.I'm standing up and walking out.Period.

I go to this old guy who must be like seventy five years old. He just has a little one man whole in the wall shop about 15 ft square. Not much styling happening, just buzzes it off the back and sides once a month but when he's finished he always mixes up some shaving foam in a litle cup and rubs it on the back of my neck and sideburns and completes the cut with an old style straight razor. Strictly old school, don't make em like that any more.

Tintura near white ave, costs about 35 bucks but you get a great cut/scalp massage/shampoo/facial cleaning (not that kind).
Be carefull where you go as some places for women gouge for mens cuts.

I normally go whatever I am close to though.

I've always had good luck at Dolce Soleil.

Does this guy do an old fashioned shave as well? One of my all time favorite memories is from a place in Jasper not long ago. Going for a shave, hot towel covering your whole face to soften your beard, hot lather made in a cup. Am I in a micro? :) Then the straight razor scraping your throat. Trust :) John Wayne did it.

When he was done he washed my face with a hot cloth, another hot towel, talcum, and off to see the mountains. One of the most relaxing experiences I have had. I chose not to ask about other services available. It absolutely has to be the equivalent of a pedicure or facial or total pampering for a female.

Classic Barber Shop

Go see Nicole at the Classic Barber Shop on 79 St. Older shop, but Nicole is an excellent barber and she does shaves. You may need to book an appt.

Does anyone know what happened to Donna from Donna's Barbershop? Her shop closed a few years ago, but I was wondering if she is still cutting hair somewhere else. PM me if you have info.

I would drive 3 hours south and head to Simple Scissors in Calgary. :) You won't regret it. I visit there everytime I'm there. Cut and FS all in one place.
