Miss it now that I am in the Prairies again

Lived in White Rock and loved the Ocean scenery. Felt like I was at a resort every day. Good to relax and wind down.

This Might sound weird to some. I love the ocean but I'm scared to Death of Deep Water!

Whenever I'm downtown ( which is Often lately ) I tend to head over to English Bay a walk along the sea wall area. sit on the benches and take it in. It's gotta be sunny of course.:)

Yes, I love being close to the big ocean water... better than by the big lakes in Ontario. I don't care what the weather is... even cold and blowy! Cannot imagine being away from mountains and ocean.

Spent the first summer of my life in a cottage on the beach, and have never considered living anywhere but near the ocean. I feel out of place in cities without mountains on one side and salt water on the other.

But rarely, if ever, do I actually go in the water -- up here it's just too cold

And I think this is a great question coming from someone in Edmonton. :)

About the Ocean

Just for the record, there is no Ocean near Whiterock. There is Puget Sound and the Straights of Georgia which are inland waters. To see the Ocean head outside Tatoosh Island in the Straits of Juan de Fuca or go check out the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Just cause it's saltwater it does not make it the ocean.

The water about White Rock is called Boundary Bay. And all these waters you mention are simply human names for human designated areas.

From another perspective, there is but one ocean of saltwater all around the planet... if you ignore human names.
